Windless places:
Western Australia KARRATHA calm, E
Western Australia BROOME calm, E
Queensland FLINDERS REEF calm, E
Victoria CAPE OTWAY 1 knot, SW
South Australia ADELAIDE 3 knots, N
Victoria PORTLAND AIRPORT 3 knots, SE
Western Australia PERTH 3 knots, S

It's been over 3 weeks since we've seen anything over 10kts! And apart from one 80kt day, nothing decent yet this year!

Who else is suffering? And more importantly......Who's getting it all?

sorry sailhack,

I've just started 5 weeks leave and this usually guarantees no wind. Anybody want to go fishing? The only positive thing is my light wind board is still being repaired so at least that's not another thing to P*$s me off

Going by the charts this Friday-Saturday-Sunday and Monday looks like being pretty good but apart from that my running is getting good doing 9km 3X a week now

Nice one Choco, 9km x3 is a good effort!

I am just happy in the knowledge I will be in Maui in 11 weeks, for three weeks....someone has to do it!

Whos "getting" it? These non windsurfing periods are ideal for "getting it". Just put all thoughts of windsurfing aside, stop checking Seabreeze forecasts hourly and PAY ATTENTION to the loved one. No shortage of "getting it" will be forthcoming.

On Saturday I bought a 105 litre board. So basically that rules out any winds over 20 knots in Sydney for the rest of the year. Sorry guys.

Fortunately I own its bigger brother, a 140 litre Tabou Rocket, upon which I had a reasonable sail on Saturday.

I have been looking at the winds in Sydney and rarely is it windless here nor rarely is it windy. So the best board for Sydney is something that will get going in about 5 to 10 knots, or sail a dingy.

Sounds like you haven't got a longboard.

Bowen NQ,
15-25 knots all weekend, 7 hours on the water saturday and 4 on sunday, don't believe that flinders reef reading, it hasn't worked for weeks.
I had to go back to work today for a rest

I here ya Sail Hack. I had a whinge about the exact same thing on the Victorian forum a couple of days ago. Bought a brand spanking new 5.8 North Natural 5 weeks ago and haven't taken it out of the bag yet.

It looks like we're in for a change on the weekend though!

The lake he is referring to is Lake Connewarre. If I could have got out of work an hour earlier I would have joined him

Yeah NQ has been great the last couple of months (I'm in Mackay), except I keep breaking all my gear broke the uni joint about 8 weeks ago, replaced that then broke my mast in the first 15 minutes of the next session then a couple of weeks later cracked my board right across the bottom and around the rails so I got a new board and then on Saturday my boom broke

Sth Coast NSW is like inside of a cave - Brand new JP Xcite ride - itching to get into it (reborn) nothing over 5 knots for a week. I've cleaned up the boat (4.35 tinny) and gear as yellowfin and kingies in close to shore so bound to get 15knt plus and 6ft swell. All I usually need to do is be half keen to fish and blows 20+. Might pack the board in as well - cant miss then. Gotta cover all angles.

Had a great sail on the weekend with a chunk of the Perth speed crew and most of the Crab crushers.

Brilliant

up here was a bit breezy too for our standards the whole week and end, funny it's about the end of the season and it's been a month of wonderfull northerly direction which isn't shifty or gusty just 14-18kts. all day long unlike the real nor'easters from 12-30 but any sail is fun enough for the soul

Sailed with my father in-law on Sunday on his boat, went round lion island, had all the canvas up and was way over powered in a 3m swell. Gusts got to 16 knots and it was a bit hairy out there. The most adrenalin rush I've had off a board in a long time!!

But it has been weeks since the wind has lined up with my freetime to winsurf.
