or make a check out to mr. Flipper4444 and send it to the Flipper4444 fund..cheers
If you're really willing to pay top $$, then there are a few safe windy windsurfing locations, at a cost. Just picking at the thread title mate... ![]()
Gorge, Garda lake, Quebec City (believe it or not). Donno about Hawaii at this time of the year.
Seriously, an alternate but cheaper way, is to get into lesser winds than the current standard - requires one longer boards perhaps, that's all.
Yet another alternative is to go out anyways in lesser winds and practice freestyle moves. This is a very popular thing here nowadays, as the wind is often crappy here too. Popular - at last: it's just amazing the tricks the guys pick up for when the wind really blows - it translates into big air moves almost right away.
Pierre beat me too it, but for top dollar, there are any number of great places to go.
Maui is cranking at present, warm, safe, no crowds. Greece also, but a lot further to go.
Lord Howe Island is also supposed to be great, although a wee bit chillier.
Closer to home is North Qld. Green Is is the go at this time but there are also mainland spots like Ayr etc.
I know, I know, what you really meant was, you want wind at home for nothing, and top dollar means one dollar.
Ironically, I was looking at buying a new board when I heard about the Maui trip.
Stop moaning and go ski-ing. Ooops, the snow is still crap too, isn't it.......
I was thinking about snowboarding too
hey think i can see some wind out side might go check it out fellas
Narr been real bad the wind, all we get is thease cold fronts that are real weak so far. I might have to change me sport to snow boarding I think.. it's Flipper4444 by the way son..
the only way to ensure wind is to buy a very expensive light wind toy (like a toy plane), hurt yourself so you can't sail, book an totally unavoidable appointment that takes two days ....or have a curry
You are in Vicco, so there is no excuse not to do some snow boarding. Once some decent snow falls, of course. The man-made stuff is OK for on-piste ski-ing, but blows for boarding or off-piste fun.
Ya never know, I might dig in and come over for a few days yet.
Something I have learnt, is that you don't have to go somewhere for a long time for it to be worthwhile. 3-4 days of good sailing would make the flight worth it for me.
