Hey Fellas,
All being well my Aussie Visa should be granted soon and I can't wait to get to Australia and to be able to burn my 5mm steamer, gimp hood, boots and gloves.
As I have never windsurfed in Australia I am hoping someone might be able to help me with either links or active clubs in either Perth or Sydney so that I can start planning the windsurfing.
Thanks
For a second your title looked like windsurfing porn. So I wondered if there would be pictures of naked boards and sails in displayed in fancy positions. Ahh well... :(![]()
If your primary reason to move to Australia is to go windsurfing, don't move to Sydney.
Much of our summer since Christmas has been like this, wet and not much wind, except for the occasional southerly change thats very strong and sometimes comes through in the middle of the night.
Yeah, but it is blowing N/E now Karl.
Packing the gear now.
Perth gets more wind than rest of Oz combined![]()
There's not much of a club scene here but you can hook up here and on Seabreeze state forums.
Keep your questions simple. If its too complicated we'll just go and read something else.![]()
Today in Yeppoon is too bad - don't know if I've got a small enough sail though. Water was coming over the dunes at 10am with ocean really blown out.
if your here for the sun the wind and the waves
no brainer,,,makes everywhere else look ****e......
wonder how that abrol trip is going????? hope they took their travel calms...![]()
Wow, that's new: different parts of Australia vying for a pommie whinger ![]()
Seriously mate, Sydney for metropolitan life (??), not for strong winds nowadays.
Not sure what Sydney you've been living in, but Sydney Australia has had plenty of 20 knot southerlies, and NE seabreezes since xmas, with a few 30 - 40 knot days mixed in.

Wow! Surfing at the airport! What a great idea. Must try that at Tullamarine.
Perth it is then!
Then one remembers that he needs to support Wife and Kids through IT job. Let's just hope I can get a Java job in Perth
With a name like Flanagan, sounds a tad Irish.....which means you should get along just fine here ![]()
Just wondering where the best windsurfing spots are around Britain, looking at my next trip? I notice you own windsurfing Gidget (Beth Williamson) comes from Liverpool, and she apparently sails on the Mersey and River Dee? How is the Portsmouth area? I know Cornwall is good for surfing, but do they windsurf there too? Don't worry about offshore winds, how do yo cope with the massive tides?
I noticed that windsurfing (and surfing) was big in Ireland, especially around Sligo.
