Get onto your local windsurfing state body and ask them what they are doing about developing the sport for kids. If they say nothing then ask them why the hell not. I can't pretend that organising all this is easy (its basically my second job) but its really personally rewarding working with kids, as I learn as much from them as they from me.

WV have invested several thousand dollars into the development programs this year alone in Victoria, and countless man hours. We are getting more growth and interest than ever. Local and national press are cottoning on to what is happening here and now we have t features coming up on TV based around learning to windsurfing and kids windsurfing. (both for channel 10 and airing in the new year).

There are a numbers of areas of focus that we are targetting over the next 12 months and kids and youth windsurfing is key, along with further development programs for developing sailors as we realise that once you take the dive into the sport there is little to no support to get past the pain areas of planning, waterstarting and jibing.

Sorry about the reply, I feel strongly about this and feel that more should be done across Australia in this area.

Excellent work Jermaldan - sounds like your getting a lot of interest both from the kids and the media. Keep up the good work
