This summer here not much wind, so I sail with me mongrel son, almost 14yo. We get about, he started basic freestyle and taking stronger winds and teaching his mates, all that stuff.

He's not very good - thick as his old man, but it doesn't matter. All that to say: this is an incredible high to sail with your kids. Esp. when they start liking it and getting into it - better than anything I've ever experienced in the past at windsurfing.

I wish you all who like kids to experience the same pleasure I get from this.

I'm not into kids. I just want to make that clear.

4 of my girls sail .I built a variety of differnt landyachts that they can work up to. One of the girls has progressed to a fast machine that will do 75kph with her in it.
. The youngest is getting a yacht built as I have the time, but likes to sail with dad as ballast. Theve all lost their fear of the speed . One of the girls is learning to sail the speedboards ive been experimenting with

So Landy,

If I ever go out to Kalgoorlie and meet up with you, you'll give me a go on a land yacht? That would be pretty awesome and I have enough insurance too.

It would be great taking your kids out for sailing and stuff. Perhaps it would get them over the 'attitude' that kids have. However they will doing willy skippers before you know it and be dissing you as being unkewl ghey old skool.

I wouldn't presume about those kids in particular, but kids in general, yeah. The Internet generation "I want it now". That's why I don't teach other people's brats, unless the parent give $$ to some NPO. Parents are the first ones to drop out for their children anyways.

Then he said again...they will doing willy skippers before you know it.

Not the idea here. If he decides to get good and do all that stuff, good on him. For now, the fun is that he's doing something healthy, he likes it, and wants to teach his mates.

You know you've won once you can use windsurfing as incentive for homework and stuff...
