Is there a definative list/hall of famers thats says who won what title and when since time begun, for windsurfing.. You would think this would be on the PWA site but couldn't see it.
Not all world champs occurred on the PWA curcuit and from memory the PWA has only been around for not so long. Can't help with where to find the info though, sorry...
With the PWA running for at least 12 yrs that I can think of, I am surprised they don't have such a list on their website
Yeah, it's a pity they don't have some good lists around for the PWA and the PBA before it.
I guess it goes something like..... Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Kevin, Antoine, Antoine, Antoine, Antoine.
We have a decent result list for the past 10 years or so from Australian racing events here:http://www.storm-riders.com.au/results/previous-winners/
Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Robby, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn, Kevin, Antoine, Antoine, Antoine, Antoine.
,
And Kleppich, Wilmot, Sensini, Fridman, Crisp, Van den Berg, Sturges, Foyen, Bringdal, Cabrinha (I think), etc etc etc.
There are more "worlds" than the ones associated with the PWA, some of them attract more competitors, and the Olympic class could well attract a lot more funding in total. When the Olympic sailors and PWA guys raced each other in the early days of the RSX, the PWA guys didn't exactly come out on top - so without knocking them, they may not be "the" world champs. They are just some of the world champs.
Yep, that's him.
He lives on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays now, and won the One Design nationals for the 13th (?) time a couple of months ago.
Great all-round windsurfer and bloke.
