Question
if it's new why does it have a JP sticker on the mono?

Hi,
Sorry mate this was sold as a new sale and I assumed it was new.
This is not my area and did not notice it as being a used sail.
I guess he not a windsurfer![]()
I hope your sending some notice to Ebay and also TNT, as this sort of thing really sucks. Maybe print off some web pages before its sold as proof.
Suggest you put in a winning bid to halt the auction or contact ebay. If it is stolen then it still belongs to you. They can't sell what they don't own.
Bidding has ended. Has something happened? Call the police if you have proof of purchase. This sort of thing is fraud.
i would contact ebay and tell them the story , ask for the item to be suspended untill the problem is resolved,if the guy has enough balls too admit that it's not his sail & TNT will cop the freight, i feel for you my friend and i hope you get your sail back![]()
TNT in the end actually refunded me $350 bucks which was apparently the market value?? but would still like to know how some joe blogs gets my sail from "lost property"at TNT. then goes and sells it a brand new! and makes 400 bucks!?? just hope the poor sucker that brought it is not dissapointed when he gets a 18 month used sail! just goes to show that there are some people out there who dont give a FARK! lesson to everyone. GET you postage insured!
I had my Van stolen in 2005, with all my windsurfing gear in it. The Van was covered by insurance, and I was able to get a better one with the payout.
4 years later, almost to the day, I spotted the windsurfing gear on ebay.
The ad was a beautie.... "mistral 2 concept" (it was a flow 266) "......comes with 2 sets of poles" ( 4 masts ) etc.
I alerted the police (one of them was a windsurfing mate), showed them detailed descriptions of the items which checked out with the list of stolen items I'd listed with them back in 2005. They went and recovered the gear for me.
Thanks to the boys in blue!! (only cost me a slab of Crownies!!)
I was the winning bider on E-bay !!
I've noticed this thread after the guy just phoned me up. He told me he had been contacted by the owner who had informed him that the sail is not new. He bought the sail at an auction where TNT clear out lost stuff. He seemed like a pretty like a pretty honest bloke with little to hide. His opinion is since Hail received a pay out for the sail and he bought it legit, it is his to sell, which i think i agree with (allthough 350 seems a bit low, but thats hails beef with TNT i would say).
Ok so he apologised for misleading me (which may have been a genuine mistake) , and offered me the sail for what he payed, which i thought seemed ok. Only problem is since he's not a windsurfer its a bit hard to get him to discribe the condition to me. Hope this is not to cheaky Hail but what condition was that sail in ??!!
What does anyone else think of this situation, thoughts welcome ...
What did he pay for the sail? and where are these TNT auctions held, could be worth a look, if its worth someone going to buy an item they know nothing about only to go try and sell it for more $ on eBay.
If TNT auctioned a "lost" items then received more for it than they paid to the TNT customer that could a bit of an issue.
How do TNT "lose" things? For a start you can only use them if you have an account set up (or used to be the case). They have a fairly foolproof system of consignment notes in quadruplicate, it would all be computerised, it seems strange that an item couldn't be correlated with either the sender or consignee and designated "lost".
hey mate
i would say sail is in fairly good nic when i last seen it!! still i believe 480 bucks is a bit deer since i sold most my 09 sails for around 400 mark over 6 months ago. to be honest got no idea how the hell tnt can loose the sail. it was wrapped in cardboard with there address label attached in duct tape!!! with my mobile number plastered all over it!! some guy in a ware house rang me and i got thrown around for about 3 weeks until they claimed it had officially been lost. it was sooo much of a hasstle. i cant believe tnt sell there lost items! how dodge is that!!! all they needed to do was ring the shop which the price tag was still on and they could have sorted it out! crazy! any way hope your happy with it. how much did he pay at the "auction"?????
I don't know anything about TNT, but nothing in life is foolproof, some stuff must get lost now and again.
Dont worry dunko what he told me he paid for it is less than what Hail recieved from TNT, so no profiting from lost items there, aparentlly !!
I think I might ask this guy if he has a reciept, or can at lest tell me what auction it came from, but if he passes these tests got to assume everything is legit!!
If this is the case it would be really good to know what sort of condition that sail is in !!!!!
If not .......
sail was used for once summer season. nothing wrong exept for a few tiny weeny kinks in mono. but you get them as soon as you unroll a bloody brand new sail! no holes scratches tears nothing. better then most demo sails. that was its condition around october i imagine??? hope TNT didnt fark a perfectly good sail!
i would have bidded myself on it but i have the exact same sail and love it, it got a workout in this arvos westerly. ![]()
