Im going up to stay at redhead .Ive never been up there before & on the map it looks like a large lake just south of there .Is it worth packing a board ? I have noticed the wind graph looks alright for newcastle & port .Where would i sail from ? & a merry xmas to all thanks

Wallis Lake is what you are looking at.Great place to sail. Weed fin is a good idea although I have got away with out having one over the years. Booti point in N/E and Sailing club in south.Check out NSW forums for more info.

Spot on, the only negative about sailing up that way is there is usually no one else around to sail with. Had some great conditions at Wallis but after awhile you get a little bored. Might be some others down where the hire place is or if its southerly then Smiths Lake is great fun too!!
Enjoy!!
