just wondering weather anyone has taken any insurance to cover all there kit?

is it worth it?

does it cover normal breakages?

how much does it cost?

who do you get cover from?

I had it for a while when I was in the uk. Cost me about 40pounds I think and had a 50 pound excess. I claimed for 2 full rigs destroyed in waves - was well worth it

GIO will insure your gear, under their contents insurance.....only insured while at your address though.............whoops i dropped my board, off the racks and it broke in half

i am suprised that more people dont cover there kit on it owms policy, with my dingy we have to insure it to be able to race, but i have a couple of claims for sails that i have damaged and every time it is a case of here is the money sir

WINDY is only half right,GIO will insure all your windsurfing gear off your address,,,,,,BUT it is called Portable Contents Cover,a detailed list has to be faxed through to GIO and an extra permium applies.
Really it is for fire theft and accident damage.As I understand it you are not covered for damage whilst in use.If you want full cover then you have to insure with a specific race type policy,not cheap,through a marine insurer.

--About $200 for $25k cover
--GIO on your house and contents.

Apparently AAMI insures your kit, I'll make some enquiries as I just got a bit more ......
