I've got a 2004 starboard carve 131 litre model, which has served me well. This is about the right volume for me. For my next board, I'd ideally like something which planes earlier. Does the (e.g.) double-concave/wider fashion in the latest boards, really make much of a difference?

hey noddy,

Yeah wider boards deffinitely make a huge difference.
I recently changed from a 72cm wide to a 75cm wide (both 120l), using the same rig ive noticed that i get on the plane earlier and easier.
I have also notice that it carries through the lulls alot better.
