newcastle sail spots

Hi guys I was staying at stocton for a couple of weeks without a board, 10 out of 14 days were good for sailing,typical.But I didn't see anyone ? where do people sail down there? the water looked good , the wind was 15 knots + on shore or cross shore.one day was 30-37 knots on shore with small chop.wats the go?

Used to be Nobby's for surf or Birubi in a W. A few sail on the Lake.

Used to sail Stocko heaps up until 10 years ago, parents lived there. There used to be 6 or so sailboarders sailing there all the time, but as you said not many now, mainly kiters. Not much good for wave sailing, the noreasters too onshore, but great for blasting out the back parallel to the beach. Only good for wave sailing in a southerly, pretty well side shore. In the harbour pretty good in a cranking noreaster and tide running out, especially during big seas as the swell can be nearly mast high coming in the harbour. Seen quite a few hammerheads while sailing Stocko.
