i've been trying to get some info on a few islands off the queensland coast and not having much luck in the qld forum so brought it to the general just in case some one knows the story.

am looking for tips/experience with heron island, lady elliot island or lady musgrave island.

am hoping to find out if they are worth windsurfing at and how much water ends up over the reefs? are booties needed?

anyone have any trip stories to tell?

i understand with lady musgrave it's camping only and has a window of access, pity cause the SE looks to be cross shore there.

Justin,
here's my GPSTC post of sailing Heron in 2009. gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2009-09-05&team=6 Not much to go by though as didn't have conditions or time to really explore.
