Ok yesterday I was trying out the idea of pointing the toes to edge the leeward rail a bit but i found I felt like I was too far out & I could point/weight my rear foot but my front heel was weighted + I felt a bit like a sack of spuds..Didnt help that I was buggered from 4hrs sleep the night before .But are you supposed to have a more upright stance to weight / point your toes? Also I found it hard to launch chop hops..I felt like I should have been more upright in over the board more ..Boom was chin height.

Guy Cribb's tip is that you should be pulling up with the toes of the front foot (like the reverse action of pushing a pedal in your car) which helps locks the board to the water.

I do that with my front leg and do the toe pointing with my back foot.

If I tried to point the toes of my front foot I'm pretty sure my foot would become a little bit loose in the strap.
