WTF.... oh hang on, I think it's a sinker!

Like the idea that the "boom" converts into a paddle (or is that a paddle that converts to a boom)in case the 40 knot winds needed to sail it drop out and you can row home.

The only thing that would complete that package would be a kite......

You're all being a bit harsh. What's wrong with an inflatable windsurfer? Fold up canoes have been around for years. IRBs successfully combine hard planing surfaces underneath an inflatable hull. And if you live in France and can only get to the beach by bus, great idea. If I was a collector I'd go to $250.

Why are you being so harsh? He is starting the auction at 99 cents and is giving an honest description of the item's condition.

Nobody is sticking a gun to your head and making you buy it. I am pretty sure it was a legitimate product but it never really took off, made in the halcyon days of the early 80s.

firstly i dont think anyone is being harsh! i think we are all genuinly confused as to whether this thing is genuine, and if it is, its sea worthiness.

Apart from that maybe a little harsh criticism is on order - imagine if you where a punter with no idea what to look for in windsurfing equipmnent, so you buy this because it is competitively priced. You sail it once, think windsurfing is ****, quit, then tell or your friends how **** windsurfing is.

I think windsurfing is a great sport and love hearing about new people getting into it and having a great time.

How many times have you gone down to your local spot and seen a newby struggling to put his kit together, gone over to offer assistance and found out the poor guy has paid good cash for some crap of ebay, trading post etc. You help them out as much as possible to get their ramshackle kit on the water for their single windsurfing outing. They rarely come back.

Someone should do all future windsurfers a favour and buy up this old crap and put it in a museum or burn it.

Wow, i feel heaps better getting that of my chest i must be having a bad day.

Mate,

Its a free country and people can sell what they like as long as its not illegal to do so.

Perhaps you should ring up KRUDD and suggest old windsurfing equipment should be made illegal. Perhaps a poll tax on windsurfing boards or a buyback of old boards will do the trick. You either pay $25 a year rego on your board or you surrender it for $50. The government then snips the noses off all boards surrendered and rips out their fin box.

99 cents isn't a lot of money, even for the unemployed its probably the equivalent of a few cigarettes. This auction is not as bad as that Tasmanian trying to sell that 20 year old F2 sail for some stupid price.

love the board buy-back scheme you suggest. Shame we are too late for the 2020 summit

Wow! What a classic! I've never seen anything like that before! Doesn't even have a wishbone boom! I'd have guessed it was homemade, except for the fact that it has a logo on it. Great stuff, if I had a garage (or a fixed address) I'd buy it in a second, as well as that old F2 sail. Haven't you guys ever seen a vintage car or classic airplane and admired it, even though it's not up to today's standards?? Me, I loooove old windsurf gear!!!

I posted questions on French fora, since the logo indicates it's French-made. (Explains everything. )

Weirdest contraption ever, looks like the south side of a northbound...

Perhaps for teaching ??
