would you rather know or not know if noah is in the area you are sailing?

And, if you saw him first, do you let other people know, or not.

Imagine seeing him, not saying anything, and he snacks on someone. But what if that someone would rather not know?

so many questions.

fatwa, you need to visit qld, go to the underwater world at Mooloolabah and get into the shark tank for a scuba dive. You'll get a different perspective and these questions become irrelevant.

If I were you I wouldn't get into your car tomrrow tho cos I've seen the fatality statistics.

Noah's Ark is a myth. Where were the dinosaurs? Dammit, I wish it were all so simple.

Oh, and it's better to be eaten by a shark than be tortured to death by Al-Qaida terrorists in Iraq. So if you are faced with the choice, go windsurfing rather than join the US Army...

BTW there is a small dog in my apartment complex which has been barking durng the day recently; now it has started barking at night...what should I do?

Depends on where I'm sailing.. on the ocean I wouldn't care either way as it's a big place and noah generally doesn't mind sharing with us.

I'd be a different story if I was on the river and one was sighted getting agro with the local wildlife near a sailing spot. In that case I'd want to know and I'd tell others cos agro bull sharks give me the willys...

Would you do the same in the angry noah tank at seaworld?

I thought about this the other day. but id rther not know. they are everytwhere and we'd probbably come close to them mots times we are out, but we can nonly see a very limited amount of the water around us/
If it was a 5m white pointre id probably like to know about it. Cause thats pretty big, and would be very rrare to hvae around, and pretyt uncusual.

Write a receipe for gow chow mein and post it on the door of the apartment where the dog lives. If they don't get the subtle hint call the police. Don't the Singapore police have machine guns to deal with these sorts of disturbances to public harmony?

With sharks, probably the one you don't see is the one you have to worry about. However we are entering their environment when we sail so its just one of those risks and is a good incentive not to spend too much time in the water.

There was an 18 foot great white seen about 500metres from where we sail two weeks ago. Sailed some other spots for awhile. We went back on Friday but I gotta say, it did cross my mind when I had a stack - bobbing around like a piece of bait.

northern perth beaches.

sailpilot,
there is no kn way you'd get me in one of those tanks.
And as far the stats go, I think they start to shorten when you spend a lot of time in the water.

and for the record ... I'd rather NOT know.

I've been for a dive in the tanks at Seaworld. Odd feeling being in the reef shark tank and coming face to face with a big Bull or Tiger shark visible through the glass separating the two tanks. Under water you really can't see that glass protection.

Then to jump into the clear box and feed the big boys...The guys that clean the tank with the big sharks do so in a chainmail suit, in pairs - one cleans and one watches the sharks.

hard to say mk, how angry are they at seaworld?
My point is that we all sail with them all the time, they see us a hell of a lot more than we see them.

Nah not angry, just some small tigers, bulls, whalers and such. Probably all well fed, wudn't like to jump in the tank and thrash myself to the side tho.

Been windsurfing more or less 14 years, only seen 4 sharks in that time- didn't stress about the biggest which i sailed not far from and was 3-4m just more thought ok wont gybe here. Warned anyone that subsequently was standing in that area but that was it.

"Never be the 1st out on the water and the last one in esp. at dusk!" Thats what people always say to me. Better off though stayin on the water and sailing into dusk and then leavin the beach late as you'll miss peak hour traffic and increase your survival chances statistically!
Only time I ever stressed out was when I cut my leg badly at Lancelin a couple of years ago and it was spilling blood while I was bobbin in the water for a long time..
