rig powered up all the time..used to be rig just right and sort of in above cruise control and relaxed one hour sessions..hope to be fitter by then and do screaming runs that i hardly can't de-rig and pack
life's too short..
Hi Jp, apart from getting a bigger rig I plan to spend some serious time getting skills up to speed and fitness. In particluar gybing, waterstarting, pumping onto the plane in marginal conditions (Gee, what else is there left
) and build the miles per session - aiming to start the L2L next year.
- Work less, windsurf more.
- Get some bigger, freerace/ride rig for more planing time.
- Land 8/10 gybes and tacks.
- Hit the surf for the first time. ![]()
Buy new gear . . .
do more planning gybes
learn to do a planning tack
Do a forward loop.
have a epic holiday in gero!
After I win the kiteboard I am going to be so radical. Just imagine me doing rad moves after getting lofted! I will grab the the front, the middle and after that I'll grab the back of the board. So cool! You guyz will be so jealous coz I'll be doing all this stuff while youz are one the beach waiting for 30 knot gust to get your poles going.
Buy light wind gear so I dont have to sit at home like I have the last couple of weeks
Do at least 30 knots
Decent gybes and tacks
Become proficient in waterstarting
Get some air but not as part of a catapult
This winter it's mainly sailing Laser dinghies, But hopefully, I'm going to start off next season by going down to Sandy Point for the Speed Week and Slalom Nats - taking down a classic Windsurfer (with teak boom and wooden CB), One Design, IMCO, slalom board and freeride gear and running them all down the course to see what they can each peak out at.
At least the crashes will be good![]()
Then it's time to get ready for the Longboard Windsurfing Festival at Port Stephens on the Oz Day long weekend. With the Raceboard Oceanics, Windsurfer One Design and Junior One nationals (including a Windsurfer Classic division), a cruising/boozing class and hopefully the SUPs, it could be the biggest regatta on the east coast in years.

Next year, I plan to WINDSURF and NOT WORK for a WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!
Everything else will follow...carve gybes, ducks, jumping etc...yeah baby!
As for THIS year, in living Singapore with light wind it's all about: learning heli-tacks, upwind 360s, and any other light wind stuff I can think of; getting much better at tacks and gybes, catching the odd storm so I can get into the footstraps and plane for at least 30 seconds a week (a lofty goal, I know, with only an 8.5 m sail)...work work work and save money...
...and ROB MORE BANKS!!!! Currently recruiting accomplices...interested applicants post resumes (with photo) on the forum plz![]()
this season i plan to do what i planned to do last season. ie. forward loop.
one teaspoon of cement please!
hooray
even if the season's over and the monsoon has freakishly come very fast we sailed the southwesterlies today with a little drizzle and mama mia i've done what i planned for next season's noreaster's...sailing straight for 2 and a half hours none stop with mates in an opposite side of the island
it's a start
