Hi everybody,

for my degree dissertation I developed a questionaire for windsurfers asking for sport injuries.
It takes you 5 minutes to go through and no worry - there's not a lot to type or write - 90% clicks !!

here's the link:

Maybe you can forward the link to other windsurfers around you - that would be great !!

Thanks a lot

Hint - tell us a bit more about yourself, then we will share our thoughts with you

One needs to give something, to ask for something

Geez i'm a wise prophet

Btw, in the surveyy in 'weight', what is lw/lws? Pounds? But isn't that lb?

contusion was giving me confusion, but I am sure I have done it

i thought the advice at the end to 'keep rippin' was somewhat poor taste, especially given my injuries.

postscript: wikipedia says 'A bruise, also called a contusion or is sometimes referred by doctors as ecchymosis, is an injury to biological tissue'

Is that height in decimal feet, or feet and inches?

yes folks - DISM is right - let mi tell u something about myself:

I do windsurfing for 15 years now .. and to study sport sciences was just a logical step for me...to research topics that I'm familiar with.
My homespot is the Baltic Sea - easy to reach when u're from Berlin.
Jobwise I still stick to a fantastic sweet surf shool at Lake Garda / Italy
WWWINDSQUARE - in Malcesine .. don't hesitate to ask for the "Survey Guy" from Berlin

I allready edited the height / weight problem ... hope it easier to go through it now.

Bless all

ecchymosis is most likely caused by an ecchythump

yes folks - it's me again.

first of all - thanks to all who went trough the questionaire so far, really appreciate this.

Just want to remind all seabreeze boardies that this survey is running online until end of july so I'll refresh this topic from time to time.

up to now i've got something like 500 answers - which is great !! and only one week gone since I started the thing on other online mags as well...cause it's a worldwide thing.

so keep on spreading the link as I'll keep on spreading knowledge I gain from that study.

Number of days? Per week or per season? I just guessed it was per week...

Might be more complicated to make the survey, but probably better for statistics if the questions were on a per injury basis. Some of my injuries needed answers in three places. That doesn't mean I had 3 injuries though.

So Easty, would that be a thump caused by violent persons at the Brisbane ekka, or an infliction by the comic Liverpuddlian martial art form using lethal black puddings! Oh age is so cruel!!

Yes folks - thanks for the reply again:

@muzza12
"Did I miss it, or is a question for broken bones in your feet (apart from toes & ankles) missing?"

Well, as there are allready studies about windsurf injuries I had to specify my aim of research an therefore I created injury-groups of the most common injuries. Broken foot-bones are quite rare (sounds strange I know) - but appear of cause. In former studies most foot injuries where on ankle or toes thats why I left it out - right now I'm not that happy with this decission but ... everyday you learn :-)

@555
"Number of days? Per week or per season? I just guessed it was per week..."

Don't see the confusion yet ;-) ok: there are 2 questions to put a number of days in.
one for other sports you do -> it says hours per week
the other asks you to fill in the days you go out in spring, summer ... thought it would be clear. BUT STILL: all these problems / confusions that come up in a questionaire will have to be discussed in my dissertation - so all your feedback is important and very welcome.

"Might be more complicated to make the survey, but probably better for statistics if the questions were on a per injury basis. Some of my injuries needed answers in three places. That doesn't mean I had 3 injuries though."

I see the problem - but I had to decide wether to extend the study and risk more cancelled questionaires or trying to keep it as precise and on point as possible. Further it is not about the amount off all injuries than more the spot and its conditions when it happened

Ha ha, yes the black puddings of course. Anyone under 40 probably wouldn't get it
