We have our house and contents insurance with AAMI. Received today notification of some changes to their policy. Of interest is this part...
"the watercraft exclusion has been modified so that surfboards, sailboards, canoes, kayaks and non-motorised surf skis are covered - but not while they are in use."
Same deal with GIO.
Insured at home,in transit,in the car,but not for accidental damage in use.
Have to itemise individual boards, sails masts etc.
Not the cheapest insurance co but Ive made two decent claims over the last 7 years (car and lost jewelery) and to my amazement they paid up,NO ISSUES.![]()
I am with GIO and spoke with them only two weeks ago. They accept winsurfing gear et al without it needing to be itemised anymore - simply photos - (check this though, don't believe me).
I had some gear stolen a while back and insurance is so easy - if you have photos. Do yourself a favour and take some photos.
Just spoke to AAMI about it and she said there was no limit as long as you had photo evidence to say what gear you have. So the camera will be getting a workout tomorrow.![]()
Cheers
I asked ami about it last night and she said "how the faark should I know? Do you want fries with that". Maybe I should call an insurance agency instead going to maccas.
Email the photos to an internet only email account, or upload them to flickr or similar. It would be nigh on impossible to loose them then unless you forget your login details ![]()
easty can you put all your gear in one bag that will make it easy
a little birdie told me we will be neighbours in september![]()
