Elmo,
Thankyou - that has to be one of the most enjoyable short films I've seen. Shame it's only 22 minutes long. It evokes all those passions that we have for the great sport. Laurie should make it a sticky to remind us and for anyone who wonders why we love windsurfing so much.
Love the loop attempt where the mast spears into the sand and those shots of Robby Naish on that slalom gear through the ocean still amaze me.
[EDIT - bummer, the video now requires a password. ]
2nd that,
elmo i am soooo glad you posted that and i caught it prior to it being locked.
fantastic vid.
I was lucky enough to watch it before the password thingy. Great video. Sound was a bit low.
Very impressive what the early guys did. Their passion is still strong even though they have aged just like the rest of us.
Robbie Naish is still my all-round favourite sailor. How good is/was he? ![]()
same here sausage, but i thought i'd be cunning and tried
ka sails, neilpryde, gaastra rocks, Elmoisamuppet, hardieisgay, kitingisgay, suppingisgay, boardiesaregay etc
awesome. for my money, Robby remains the greatest sailor of all time, he appears to be no ego and all passion. he has true reverence for a sport he was just doing to have fun and be with friends.
it better be windy tomorrow.
The sight of Robby Naish with a daggerboard hanging from his arm brings back memories of my starting days
Yep, that's what it's all about. Well posted Elmo.
Does anyone else remember seeing photos of Jenna de Rosnay - hottest thing ever!
Only the bodypaint one in the NP wetsuit ad.
thanks for posting, very enjoyable and nostalgic trip down memory lane. Yup, Jenna De Rosnay, stunner
Windsurfing is fun now, but I'm glad I lived part of those early years as a youngster.
Was pure fun then, no gimmick.
