Hi
Severne blade 4,7 is established by the manufacturer to use a 400 mast but I don't want to travel with so much stuff.
Does somebody use it with a 370 mast? Which is the experience?
Thanks

I regularly use a 370 on an older 2017-18 4.5 Blade, think the luff says 403cm. It works with 32-34cm on the extension and I wouldn't want any less downhaul. Goes better with a 400 if I'm honest with myself.

Could be OK if 4.7 is your light-wind sail but might be pushing the limits of a 36cm extension if you're heading out in waves of consequence or need to crank up the downhaul.

It will feel a bit softer if you have an extension long enough. Masts don't take up much space so I'd take both. As a bonus, you have a spare.

Have done it on my 2021 4.7 Blade. Works fine but a little softer.
My favorite is to rig it with a 370 bottom and 400 top.

My Blades are from 2024 and my 4.7 is supposed to set on the 4m mast, with 4 or 5cms of extension.
That is my preferred mast.

When travelling, I could only carry my 370 mast on the plane, but I found the 4.7 sail set just fine on that mast with 34cms extension, using the Severne Cyclops 36.
Obviously, you are pushing the strength of an RDM extension tube at that length, especially in powerful waves.
But I found the sail set well, and it worked for me as a lighter sailor. It will take less downhaul when set on this softer 370 mast.
