Watched it today in Vmax cinema 3D,alot was said about the special effects and 3D but i'm glad to say the story was excellent! the 3D helped to imerse you into their world, James Cameron has a great imagination.

I loved the movie but I must say the story seemed 'heavily borrowed' from a Australian children's animated film called "Fern Gully"

Saw it as well last weekend, was also impressed with the story, but the 3D is something to behold. not the usual 3D far of stuff popping out of the screen at you but a fantastic depth of image.

Myself I felt it was one of those benchmark movies for effects similar to Matrix and Starwars.

Hope the DVD comes out with the good specs

Are the glasses just red/green filters?

I'm colourblind and watched the 3D version of monster v aliens and it was all fuzzy wife thought it was ok (effect wise)

Dont wanna spend the bills to see the 3D version only to walk out with a migraine 10 mins in

The glasses are polarised, they look just like normal sunnies. This means that the colours in the film come through just fine -- if you're colourblind then you'll still be able to see the 3D effect properly, the polarised filters mean that each eye sees a different image.

Do it, you won't be disappointed

The 3d effect is excellent. After a while your eye gets used to it and it is less noticable. My only complaint is that the glasses reduce the image quality a little. The non-3d scenes are much brighter and sharper viewed without the glasses.

I thought that too. Still, one of the best films i've seen in ages and definitely worth watching in 3D, even if you do have to pay $22

Loved the movie - It's always great to go to see a movie that lives up to the hype!

Thought this was funny though...

WARNING: Partial story line spoiler

I like the fact that the mineral was called Unobtainium. This mineral has popped up as a metal in 'The Core', with a bit more of the irony exposed in the dialogue. I also found it amusing that the prop they used as a piece of Unobtainium looked remarkably like Galena, one of the most common and boring base metal ores I've ever mined. It is pretty though.

Yep I went and saw it and loved it, totally taken bythe 3D effect and spec effects.
My brother in law wants to see it but only has one eye and asked can he get the 3D effect with only one eye, I suppose he can't hey?? Guess he will have to just see the 2D version as the 3D will be blurry??

I haven't seen it but I've heard the story is basically Dances with Wolves in space.

It might borrow on other books/films but at least it's got a great story unlike other films that spend $$$ on specail effects and the story is crap.

Greg, I have limited vision in one eye and was concerned that I would struggle with the 3D (never having seen one before).
There was no problem at all.
Even with one eye shut and taking the glasses off and holding them out in front of me, you could see through one lens that the effect was working.
Must be something to do with the polarising rather than the old style red and blue.

hope that helps

Dances With Smurfs

Amazing effects but the story wasn't very subtle. Give me Blade Runner any day.

Its that much of a good movie, you could convince the missus that that new LCD and Blu-ray player is REALLY worth it.

When I got my hd lcd, the blu-ray player came with it. I thought it was a bit of a wank, until I watched one.

Fantastic. Do it.

Can you explain why you thought it was crap? I haven't seen it yet but have heard enough of the plot to have an idea whats going on.

From my understanding it goes something like this, a young man makes the move from his own environment to a new strange environment. He feels out of sorts till he meets a girl there and eventually they fall in love.

They have a nice time together until in the middle of the night their ship hits an iceburg.

Ok, I'll bite. How did you get your money back?

They're not going to refund your money just because you don't like the movie. That's your problem, not theirs.

Was the projector or sound broken?
You couldn't see the 3D?
Dick heads being annoying in the cinema?
What was it?

Brucey65 has only got one eye. And even that's a bit defective. So the 3D was a total waste on him.
Also has short term memory loss where he can only remember things for 1 hour tops.
So by one and a half hours into it he had completely lost the plot.

Sorry Brucey, but anyone who says that movie is crap hasn't had one in a looooooong time. I definitely couldn't stare at one of those for nearly 3 hours and love every minute of it.
BEST MOVIE I EVER SAW!

me and the new misses seen it tonight and the first 16 hours was good.
apart from the effects it was garbage and a reality so you think you can dance had more drama and storyline.
should be shortened so the movies so you dont get the felling "whens it gona end"
5/10 up there with
i know what you did last summer..............
the 3d glasses made me look like harry potter. and amused the misses more than the movie.

What did concern me as a downloader was the AFACT.org
poster in the ****ter had a pretty picture of a camera in a popcorn box.

This afact.org is a copy write infringement group which has hit my ip address multiple times on a peerguardian firewall. over the last month.
I think i have to cease my downloads for a few months with warner brother and afact tryn to axcess my puter

Sigornie weaver sucks balls
Is that actor from bogansville (rockingham) really a paraplegic like superman.?
