Punctuation may be preferable but sometimes I get excited from the brainwashed spineless jellyfish calling me a redneck
Dear rickwind would you accept these people into your home with your family or would it be a chance(risk) you wouldn't like to take?
Understandably my views may seem a little out there but sometimes people find it more comforting to believe a lie than admit the wools over their eyes
I have a studio apartment under my rental home. It's a nice but small unit with views of the water. Currently it's empty and is advertised for $170 a week rent. Would it be possible to rent it out to the government for an asylum seekr and get $300 a week. It would be good for them, as they have their own kitchen and bathroom so they can do their own thing.
I'd give them $50 a week to buy food and $40 for beer.
It could be a thing that is easy to get into but difficult to get out of if the experience is not enjoyable.
Something to be considered is "House Rules".![]()
Dear rickwind I hope you enjoy your time with your new refugee and enjoy their company culture and beliefs in your house no point saying maybe or you'd like to interview them you should just accept who your given as the government wouldn't lie to you and enjoy your new life together maybe doing scripture studies together at night over a cold beer?
¡Ay, caramba!
So I've read the real Koran, and not the rightwing link posted above, and can assure all of you, potential Muslim refugee recipients, especially Dinsdale, that you have nothing to worry about. It is all a matter of religious interpretation, and in 99.99% of the cases, the interpretation will be "moderate", and similar to the mainstream biblical interpretation. The refugees will gladly eat your food and may even drink your beer, even though it is technically "haram" (prohibited), because there is a specific provision allowing for this in order not to offend the host of the house. You may also find that your guests are very polite and respectful to you, your family, and your belongings while in your house - as dictated by their religion.
And let's be realistic - would you rather leave your children with a Muslim refugee or with a Catholic priest?
I have an Indian couple (Sikhs from Punjab) staying at my house who are delightful people. They did not arrive as refugees and they tell me the comparative cost of living back home is higher than here, though there is a certain economic advantage to living in Australia.
They are going through the process of gaining "Permanent Residency Status".
Apart from the financial burden of the process which is upwards from $50,000, the rest of it is quite onerous to say the least, re English language and literacy requirements and the requirement to be in a regional or rural community for 2 years mixed into the rest of the very complicated equation.
If the "queue jumpers" were required to do the same thing I am quite certain less than 10% would actually make it.
The first thing they would do is cry "unfair".
Dear green pat the government paid for infrastructure development housing and sanitation services it bought houses and released land in ravensthorpe under the promise of bhp that the taxes from the mine would recover costs also as the mine was research and development the government also partially funded construction and bhp received tax breaks once built the mine is now owned by a Canadian fronted company which is 60 percent owned by the Chinese .
