Cable ties and velcro are probably two of the greatest inventions of modern times. We take them for granted but the amount of force they can sustain for the minimal effort to apply them is surely unsurpassed

I agree. However The Yankees are taking velcro off their military uniforms/clothing, going back to buttons. Especially for Special Ops, they hate the added noise when you're trying to be super quiet!

However, I give you 2 better inventions...
1) The humble t-shirt
2) Premium Beers!

The pill
And condoms..

C'mon it has increased everyone's count . Along with premium beers..

Cable ties, duct tape and zip-lock plastic bags. If you can't fix it with those three you are in real trouble.

Give me a roll of gaffa tape and I will make you a cable tie equivalent and zip-lock bag (well, not zip-lock, but resealable). While Im at it, I will tape over your duct tape therebye holding it in place

The re-usable cable ties are the go but I have not seen them in the shops for a while. Have a little finger clip you can use to loosen them.

If cable ties fail at fixing it you can build it with duct tape :)
