Have I missed anything yet?

I'll just give myself a quick catch-up (without even looking at page 1)...

It's ****ing barbaric and is nothing but a left over ritual from the dark ages and beyond

WTF man. It is about hygiene. The child doesn't get all crusty yellow stuff under the lid.

That is not a problem if one follows *basic hygienic standards*, like having a shower. Don't you have showers? Idiot.

In the desert? That's where it originated. Learn something sometime.
Anyway it just looks better. Ask any woman.

But it doesn't function better. It impairs normal functionality.

What.planet.are.you.on?

Look, I had it done when I was just born. Don't remember it. Everything works just fine.

Did your parents ask you if you'd like to be butchered?

Of course not. And we got our two sons' done too. No damage. Simple.

People like you make me sick. You're all sheep just following what you religion tells you to.

Who said anything about a religion?

If this thread persuades anyone's opinion I'll get fake breasts.

Which means you last longer

How would you compare? Can you add bits to try it out?

What's all this bit about lasting longer anyway. Doesn't anyone want to sleep?

I always think its wrong to tamper with someones GONADS unless there over the age of 18.
I wouldn't want my nads or bellend tampered with?

Answer is NO it should be a self decision.

Religion is bull**** so is cutting off someones bell-end cover without the consent. . You don't have to be a rocket scientist to do the maths?

I bet Muslims do that for a Sunday fun event. If your Muslim Jewish or Jehovah witness catholic or dumb enough to follow any other religion i reckon you deserve to get your balls chopped up.
My religion is surfing and i have a bellend cover.

I guess you could also argue not to imunise as well. Wait and let them decideHave you ever known a adult who had to get it done Ask them if they would have preferred to not have remembered the opp

I suppose you could take that line, however there is genuine evidence that immunization provides a curtailment of infectious diseases to the wider community. So your actually helping your child to help others from birth.

I do know adults who have been imunised and circumcised!

Also if the pain of a jab is a concern you should ask for sedation.

Again I fail to understand how surgically excising part of childs genatalia is ok, but getting concerned about pain after an injection is more of a concern.

Do you all know the traditional Jewish method?
The Rabbi cuts the foreskin off, then cleans the wound with, HIS MOUTH.

Nice tradition.

I think circumcision is a good thing. For many many years now, lots of people have tried to circumcise the globe in yachts and planes and stuff. The spirit of competition is good and as each person goes around faster than the last.... oh, hang on....

Quote from 'Captain Good Vibes' if any body here is old enough to remember him.

"I'm going to circumsiise the Earth - sail around the globe in a Cutter"

Are any of the "mutilation, butchery and psychological trauma" side of the debate here actually cut?

LOL maybe don't knock it till you've tried it. Never heard any complaints from someone who was circumcised.

I was old enough when mine was done to remember the alternative and I don't miss it. It's about as much use as your wisdom teeth and appendix, by all means you can keep them but they can cause trouble. Get over it pansies.

Excitable much? The topic was circumcism, not bi-lateral orchiectomy.

Oh, and I found an informative article about your favourite surf locality... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Kazakhstan

There was a program on ABC some time ago that explored the topic. There are many who curse their parents for having it done without their permission because of later complications.

There was a very good looking Muslim guy in his 50s who related how he was a happy 10 yo enjoying life when his father took him to the barber shop one day and he was grabbed by his father and his mates and subjected to an impromptu circumcision.

He was totally pinged off about it because apart from the total distrust he had for his father from there on, it caused a deformed bend of his member that made sexual performance a huge problem for him.

The Jewish practice of performing it on a baby less than 8 days old, by a non medically qualified rabbi is just barbaric to say the least.

The practice is in no way medically justified unless there is some infection. Quite often the foreskin does not fully separate from the glans until the child is 6 or 7 years old.

Teaching the child proper hygiene is a parental duty. It might have been relevant for middle eastern savages roaming around the desert millennia ago but the practice has no place in an enlightened society to which the Jews and Arabs don't seem to belong.
