1) put the ownership of any assets in a trust asap (means he doesnt own them and cant be counted as an asset)
2) remove ex from super beneficiaries list
3) seek legal advice pronto as she can access half his super
4) if house is in just his name deffo put under a trust. - see accountant or fin advisor
it will be safe.
4.5) act quickly, DONT do nothing, my mate did nothing and came out pennyless.
5) hire hit man.

I can tell you that 1 and 4 don't mean a thing, even if you have done this any assets not at arm's length can be deemed yours, and included in settlement

3 and 4.5 are worth exploring

If you do 5 also get a good criminal lawyer too...

I have noticed that you do Doggie

I got divorced 20 years ago the kids are all grown up, have their own lives and their own kids, I have grandkids now...sweet!
Your mate will get there, trust me. It takes time, patience (a lot of patience) and he will go through some more pain before it gets better, then he'll probably go through some more.
Not trying to be negative but truthful.
The best thing for your mate are his friends and family and maybe a good cry now and then .... yeah yeah I hear you all but sometimes you gotta let it out.

The rules are
#1. Look after the kids.
#2. Look after you.
#3. Get yourself a good lawyer.
#4. Mediatation is your best and cheapest bet.
#5. Look after the kids.

I've been there, done that and contrary to what others say it does get better, my new wife (of 16 years) is 50 today and the best thing that ever happened to me.
Take care mate

I just worked out that I will pay $93 600.00 by the time my daughter is 18. I dont have any custody and I never really had a relationship with the mother.

Im not happy but there is no way out of it. I can understand the animosity that people display over these things, its frustrating to say the least

get the same laywer s that idiot who got of scot free for headbutting a cop and paralizing him !
Its to late .. 50/50 split not a bullet.
the fambily trust idea requires setting up in which you take out a fake loan from your trust and pay 1 dollar a week back into it in the event of a split the te default is the bank then the trust then the 3 person (woman)
prenub is by far the best way to ensure your assets.
Just make sure your kids are looked after there are plenty of single mums and kids unfortunately who are on the poverty line thru messy divorces.

.the best bet is stay in diplomatic talk with her and avoid lawyers and dont let emotion catch up with it. layers are nothing but dogs and will rape your assets dry.

The more aggressions and conflict the more it costs and ultimatly the kids are the loosers
