Hi All,
Cleaned up the look & feel of the forums .. check it out, and share your thoughts before it goes live...
(...oh .. and let me know of any errors!)
Also, site has been also been upgraded for easy access via iPhone / Android...

First I was like.. oww my eyes
Then I was like... hmmm well I guess it could be worse
Then I was like.. yup it's ok.
But - I hate how every site is transforming to be phone friendly - ie one thin column down the middle. In the meantime, most of us now have 21" or 24" widescreen monitors. So the new seabreeze has 25% white space on left, 50% content in middle, 25% white space on right. Here is another example, they day they unveiled this look was the day I said "enough, never going back". www.news.com.au/
PS Side shadows need to stretch down interactively, they look a bit silly unless they reach the bottom.
At first I thought it was a smaller font, but when you compare then side by side they look the same. Had to peek into a few different threads before my brain got the hang of the slightly different format. I didn't think it needed a change, but it's not so bad.
Don't like that at all![]()

Pale blue font on white background that is too vast with no definitions on topic to topic separation. No good send it back to the developer. They are ripping you off with that rubbish.
The iPhone /Android users are what percentage viewer, maybe 20 at best.![]()
I mainly use an iPad with Seabreeze, the font size is just a wee bit too big For the iPad and requires constant scrolling to read through a single posting.
Previous version was OK as I could make bigger when my older eyes needed but small enough to read a thread in comfort. IPad cannot reduce this format below a minimum size and it feels like every topic is yelling at me...
Not sure a facelift was all that urgent compared to some in the Kiters forum that may need Botox and maybe some of those SUPer's need lyposuction, and there may even be some who would benefit from a labotomy ....
I spose I will get used to it but I didn't think the original needed any change.
In fact I liked it lots better than some of the other crappy forums that are hard to keep track of replies etc.
Be aware that some people here are either old and don't like change,
or worse still,.. are kiters and are of limited intellect, ![]()
or worse still, are SUPpers and don't understand anything. ![]()
(Thank you. Your opinion is important to us.
)
Oh,.. did I say
yet??
Two points.
A) Could do away with all the buy and sell hyperlinks and just have the one.
B) Why does Seabreeze not have a fishing forum.

Tried it on all 3 devices, looks good on iPhone and iPad but I don't like it on the computer, as others have said, too much white.
Awsome on my android
,
Pretty gay on the laptop,
Can't you clever IT nerds work out what I'm using using to view it and make it fit accordingly.![]()

Could you include a feature which they use on the Bigfooty forums where you place the arrow on the forum topic and a window opens up showing a preview of the first post?
I must agree with the comments above, no good for a PC, too much wasted space IMO. Can't you have two versions of the web site, after all it should just be a matter of having different CSS...You could have a link from the main site saying if your on a mobile or ipad, click here for the narrow version, link it to something like mobile.seabreeze.com.au and just apply a different set of style sheets, after all it will just be the presentation that will differ.
Looks good on android phone & much easier to use without having to scroll across or do the reduce/expand screen.
Graphs better too. ![]()
After all the nose mining, here's what's changed, so if you're keen and able, and want to be involved it making it the goodness, do take time to check it out again...
1) iPad fonts/sizing all fixed up
2) Android failing click on menus all fixed up
3) "Try to please all the people all the time fix"
Let me explain this one: I'm in favour of the fixed width in the middle design, as it prevents the "watching tennis" effect, however, do understand others prefer the wider format. So... at the very bottom of the page, you'll find a "Widescreen | Fixed" option where you can choose!! Happy days for all.
Do give the fixed width a go before you dis it, as it has been widened a little.
4) Drop shadow has been lightened
5) Some whitespace dropped, although with all the white, there's still a lot of white.
.. all the other features requested have been logged, but staying focussed on layout for all the devices at the moment.
Lots of testing: Mac Safari/IE, Windows IE7,8,9,/Safari/Chrome/FireFox, iPhone3/4, iPad, HTC Phone, Samsung Phone & tablet .. sometimes just going around in circles .. fix one, the other broke, but we're getting there with your help! ![]()
It's all good stuff .. it won't go live, until everybody the majority are happy with where it's headed ![]()

1.- That drop shadow effect doesn't work. It just looks like some grey crap to either side of the information.
2.- I hate fixed widths... I want to be able to resize the browser window as I want and the table to be using 100% width.
