Decided to watch the Game Of Thones after reading this thread and talking to friends. It's a great story and very well told. Clearly medieval Europe is an inspiration all up to the Picts/Scots of the north and the Mongol hordes of the east.
Watching this is a pleasant way to spend a rainy and cold weekend while sick with a cold.
From all I have heard, it is a good watch.
This, starring Michael Caine and Omar Sharrif, is also a good watch. Not on such a grand scale but it certainly puts a realistic perspective on what it would have been like during the 30 or 100 year war in Europe.
