An orchestrated performance with a couple of plants in the audience to ask the questions on which she could score some big points with the electorate.
I wonder if Q&A has lost it's integrity.
Saw it.. Was not impressed.
I laughed a bit when she tried to diverge from giving an answer when Tony asked if she had any voice training.
I wish people would've pressed on harder issues and made her look more like a fool.
The last question was a kicker though!
I think that she is a highly intelligent, articulate and not bad looking sort, big bum though. She appears to have the consensus decision making team oriented outlook down to pat. It really is a question of whether it is a competent team that she leads. I think not.
As far as the QANDA performance I was impressed with a few answers. I like her atheism and the confidence that she expresses without having to cower to the bible bashers. I think her answer to the Latham question was unscipted and brilliant. In the context of an election campaign she does a reasonable job of answering the question at hand and last night did not talk gobbledegook. Unlike her East Timor solution denial "I do not want to leave undisturbed the impression"
And finally I don't get the Rudd reconciliation?
I think we are going to see the power of incumbency playing a significant role in the election result.

I doubt there'd be too many senior politicians on either side that would not have had coaching on how to present themselves, how to answer questions and so on. The further they get up the tree, the more coaching they'd have. Makes sense for both parties to try to make their front line-up look as good as they can get them.
Disagree with you though about not being smart. She was a lawyer in her former life so she can't be too dumb. Smarter than the budgie smuggler? Highly likely. ![]()
Meant to add... I thought she did a fair job tackling what she got. But there could've been more tough questions. It was certainly good that it was almost all about their policies, not about bagging the other side. Barely even a mention of the Libs! I think the Libs would do well to take note.
The Latham answer was classic. ![]()
Liked most of it.
She manages to (most of the time) still seem human. She is very smart and can think on her feet extremely well.
Sick to kn death of the 'hands up' etc tho.
Copped it sweet on the govt fk ups but (finally) sung some self praise over the little things like sving our collective bacon (despite a few 'shonks' souring a small part of the deal).
Really liked that she (almost) straight out said "Oi don't need to appologise to Kev coz oi made a decission - it was for the boist and now oim the boss". ![]()
Would like to see IF the mad wingo could be anywhere near as 'real', relaxed, honest or informed accross a number of issues. He will never do a solo spot like that - he'd probably have the machismo to give it crack - but his party knows him best and would never allow it. What does that say - even they don't trust him.
Getfunky ,I think Abbott is on next week. Should be interesting. I thought Gillard was outstanding but I'm rusted on. And I couldn't help thinking that this election would be much harder to win against Turnbull than Abbott. What do the Lib voters out there think?
Didn't realise she was from SA originally. Probably accounts for the accent. I went to a party one time at a friends place. Was talking to this guy (about boats) ... he had a bit of a strange accent and so I asked him if he was from New Zealand. He said "No. I come from South Australia. We all talk like this!!" ![]()

If Tony had half a brain he'd spin too, instead all we get from him is "Aaarr.. blah illegal immigrants..aarr..blah cue jumpers blah..aarr..mining companies..aaarr" - "But Mister Rabbit we haven't started the interview yet and I just asked you if you have had a nice day." "Aaaarr... real Julia.. aaarr.. insulation blah.. aaarr."![]()
Boy has Julia Goolia cleaned up her accent or what?? 50 yrs bogun - a few weeks in the top job and she sounds like a Toorak Cowgirl (not quite
).
It will be painful for me but I am lookin forward to counting how many 'aarrs' and how many 'straight' answers we get from him on QandA next week.
Liked most of it.
She manages to (most of the time) still seem human. She is very smart and can think on her feet extremely well.
Only because everything is so well scripted for her, you said this yourself ;
Boy has Julia Goolia cleaned up her accent or what?? 50 yrs bogun - a few weeks in the top job and she sounds like a Toorak Cowgirl
she,, like kev,, is being trained to be as likeable to the public as poss .
Just because she was a lawyer doesnt make her smart , ask the people she wants to vote for her, most of them LIVE ,, life ,, know what the real world is like ,having commitments , educating their own siblings , trying to bring them up to be good people, paying bills on time ,etc,
politicians like the pointy nosed red setter dont know what REAL life is like , as I said ,everthing is scripted for them
Being well educated does not necessarily make you smart, (it makes you well educated)
living and experiencing all the ups and downs life throws at you and knowing how best to cope with them gives you a true perspective on how to deal with the different situations that are thrust upon us .
Shame there is not one politician like this,
She stuck the knife in her bosses back quite calmly and willingly ,, wtf will she do to us![]()
I love the way people show their ignorance by referring to their obviously more talented brothers and sisters as "stupid" or "idiots". Folks who can only just operate the garage remote control feel it's O.K to call Stephen Hawking an imbecile. CASA just a couple of notes for you. 1. Gillard is smart(she can even pay her own bills on time).. 2 You said " bringing up her own siblings, educating her own siblings"... is this a veiled reference to her being childless?, if it is, then your playing dirty pool and you should apologize...3 being well educated makes you smarter.. 4 ... you said " shame there's not one politician like this ". What! Pauline not running this time?![]()
Do yourself a favour and vote liberal before it turns into a muslim state paid for by your taxes.
They can leave the blood shed on there waters. asylum seekers and values have no place in a westernized world.
labour is finished. You wont have to worry about workchoices if you are a minority in a country flooded by polotitions who open the floodgates spending welfare
on housing terrorist rather than creating a hostpitable bed for you grand mother.
Seems the welfare handouts are to much labour as fast as you were voted in because of howard workchoices you will be voted out because of your blatent negelct to adress key issues.
Labour is finished.
I happened to see Abbot interviewed by that other ranga ALP stalwart on ABC last night. It is pretty disappointing when the interviewer takes on the role as opponent by pushing his personal opinion and makes jibes against the interviewee.
I think that this was a terribly biased interview and was unfair on Abbot. Shame on the ABC and Kerry O'Brien. The Australian public deserve the opportunity to make up their own mind, not have Kerry O'Briens view shoved down their throat.
