OK - I admit I hate to get my hair cut. It's not that I am a feral or have dreds down to my waist - I just don't like to have to sit there in a line waiting 40 min on a Saturday morning - then be held hostage as someone recounts every detail of the latest cricket/football/rugby match... I just want to get in and get out and get on with my day. Don't get me wrong - I'm happy to make polite small talk, but KEEP CUTTING!

...anyways - got sick of the bloke at my local constantly stopping mid cut to give me his one sided views on the AFL ladder, iPhones, car GPS or home theatre... of which he knew little about. So I went to the place in the next suburb...

I'm no 'metro' and have a standard #5 clippers back & sides and 'chopped up' on top - low maintenance and quick drying. 15 minutes in the chair and back again in 6-7 weeks for the same...

$29!!! When did that happen?

Perth is an expensive place. Something like $12 for a beer.

In Sydney which apparently is also an expensive place I pay $4 for a beer at the RSL club and $12 for a haircut.

Q. Men's haircut - how much are you paying ?

A. Nothing! Either my wife or my eldest daughter does mine - and a good job they do too .
Haven't paid for a haircut for >30yrs.

I go once every 6 months.
I'm due now.
Pay around 25-30 bucks in Garden City.
I hate having my haircut so to make the transition from hair to no hair i go to any place in garden city where the cutters appear most attractive.
I'm shallow like that.

I bought a pair of clippers for $17 about 5 years ago and havent paid for a hair cut since.
Going by you guys getting a cut ever 2 months for $30 a pop.I have saved about $900TThats alot of beers.

Then again,,I have had a No 1 army cut for 5 years so I dont win any fashion awards,,,but practicality wins over anything else in my world.

I mow my lawn the same,
as low as I can, right down to the roots,or dirt, so I dont have to worry about it for as long as I can.
Mowing lawns and getting hair cuts means time wasted not at the beach

Back in about 2000 to 2002 I was paying $8 in Chatswood (Sydney) NSW at a barber on the mall. Until one day... He took the cloke off me, and my shirt was covered in sweat, as I was so scared they were going to stuff it up again !!

Since then I have opted for the places that the girls also frequent.... I pay about $30 for a nice head massage and shampoo.... all the while hoping she would give me a blowie too ! . But I only get it done about every 3 months. Maybe 4. I go wild and wollie from time to time !!

Note - I have more than a full head of hair, and I have absolutely no prejudice for the guys who are thinning... eg, Kelly Slater.

It's good that you are happy about being bald, not much you can do about it I s'pose.

I paid $25 for my last haircut in a barber shop, but I gave the dude $30 cause I was happy with it. I also get mine cut about once every 6 months. I'm sure the last haircut I had was like $12.

While I always expect the cut and suck, it never happens. In sydney I paid 18, but I walked past 2 places afterwards that were 10 bucks. Spew.

I'm the same -- all those primped up little bimbos in the salon simply don't know about the ritual. Half of them don't even shave your neck! And they expect $35 for the privilege?

I've only found one barber north of Perth that knows what he's about... he gets a $7 tip every time I visit

Used to go to a small unisex hair place in Vic Park, was a nice 40 some lady with big (.(.) she used to rub them all about my face an neck..... was $ 17-00 used to go every 4 weeks was 15 minutes of heaven They closed the shop so went to buy electric clippers .
What do you do when the clippers do not cut very well anymore? Starting to pull your hair? I tried to pull it apart to sharp the blade but could not put it back again!

I remember a guy in High School who kept pocketing the money his mum gave him to get his haircut... she got sick of it - so cut it whilst he was asleep!! The result was a little worse that this poor kid... I think he got his haircut properly from then on!!
