I think that this is an extremely sensitive subject and not really suitable for a flippant forum discussion. There is a range of possibilities which exist to the validity of an answer posted to the question of self evaluation of mental state.
1/ You claim to be sane and mentally balanced. The reality is that you are insane, totally mentally imbalanced and completely unable to self recognise the situation.
2/ You claim to be mad, loopy, nuts or whatever. The reality is that you are flippantly answering the question with a "smart" comment, or you are actually slightly mad and recognise this as a full sanity.
3/You claim to be sane based on a rational self evaluation and discussions with your therapist/self help guru. In reality you are a mentally balanced and stable person.
4/ You recognise and can discuss a particular mental/medical condition to which you display appropriate symptoms (during periods of lucidity which may vary in length and frequency). The reality is that you have a mental illness.
The forum is not really an appropriate place to make these self assessments.
FAR BETTER to discuss the mental state of other forum members. I accuse you **** and **** and **** of being stark raving lunatics. And if you name is **** you will know exactly who you are[}:)][}:)][}:)]

S'ok - fix it in the mix.

Surely some half-baked muso who owns a kick-arse puter (and therefore thinks he/she is a world class producer) will have magic stoopendous plug-in that will create stereo from mono (yeh right - like Christopher Reeve really is Superman).

Ha ha - I have an elderly colleague/client that is self infatuated with his atmos recordings of North West birds and also trains. He records with a mono condensor mic and insists on lining up two identical mono tracks, panning one each L/R and marveling at his own creative genius and the improvements with the "fantastic stereo spread and depth"..

Sigh.. despite my many hints/explanations/claims of audio heresy he bangs on about his own stereo genius every time.

Let the fools run about in the field of self loving and mono depth. It's just easier that way.
