Sounds like slush fund to me.
Why don't they invest in revenue generating schemes they will get more tax and create jobs in Australia mate??????
Wheel chairs will ultimately be bought probably from China
We did have revenue generating schemes but we gave them to the private sector so now the only form of income is tax.
There is plenty of money in Australia, we just need the big tax bludgers like Gina to start pulling their weight. If I can pay 30% so can the rich.
Luv it. Now that's the attitude. Two thumbs up.

Hear hear!
Soap box...
As long as it is an honest effort anything which goes towards helping the plight of a disabled has my 100% support.
Try a wheelchair for 2 hours of your average day out of your house - with no disability. Then re-check your opinions.
PSSST if we removed the tax changes J Howard implemented in 2006 there would be no budget blowout.
There are a number of structural remedies to fix this very modest hole.
The tax regime of an OECD country needs around 27% of GDP to run the society we like to live in.
You might not like how it is spent but by and large that is the requirement.
There is a toxic political structure at present with no major concern for the impact its machinations have on the psyche or faith citizens have in its institutions.
You have the uber wealthy claiming cash machine welfare from mining activities.... being given prime time news slots for their soap box![]()
Shortly the rest of the mining companies are going to suck-up the cost of removing the mining tax (which will be re-imposed) -- U might say WT?? but there have been 2 states which have raised their mining royalties since the federal mining tax was applied. The flawed design of the final mining tax meant that the Federal government reimbursed the miners for any change to state royalty taxes. Well I do not think the state royalties are being wound back but the reimbursement is (under Liberal). Well no traction in the state government arena for soap box so silence is the tune for this situation.
That's what I thought happened to the revenue, too. Feds collected $126m, down from $2b forecast, partly because Qld & WA upped their royalties.
So how much did the total take increase? If I was Labor, I would be shouting about the royalty increase, not feebly defending the lower revenues by pointing to lower commodity prices
The royalties were increased on a few of the WA mining companies which were given reduced rates some years back to help them get started.
It would have been the ultimate insult if we had left them at the lower rate and let the feds cream off a new tax from them when we weren't charging the proper and common royalty rate. Specially on top of the piddley percentage of our GST which we get returned.
So now we have a common royalty rate on all mining because if we don't take it then Julia will.
Sounds fair and reasonable to me.
Wowsers... You pop over to India for a few days and look what happens. The Labs lovers go berserk in like a million threads
oh, and there was a federal budget![]()
pweedas is correct... Mostly... The royalty rates were not increased. The discount on the royalty on lower value products was removed - e.g. Iron ore fines.
Colin Barnett made absolute fools of the Federal labs... They had no idea it was coming...
BTW - this is about NDIS... The NDIS is awesome... The end![]()

Now we just need to sort out some other stuff... Baby bonus, school "kids" bonus... Dump it! Proper parents leave... Now we're talking... Better still, a business, employee and government partnership for children... I would love to see daycare rooms or floors at the office!
Not yet a comrade though. I can't believe in the need for someone else to represent me in the fight against the big nasty boss and the bad company. The employer and employee relationship has to be about friendship... Companies that chose to do the right thing by those in the community because they want to (e.g. Fair Trade). People who chose services and companies that do the "right" thing... Survival of the fittest - or most loved![]()

Wow, you must have been lucky in your career. I have worked for some excellent managers, and some bad ones. These managers may not represent how good the other co-workers are or even how nice the boss is.
Parents leave? Daycare in the office? I have no children, so there is no need for that. Junk it! ![]()
