People that have near death experiences come back with information that they couldn't have unless they had actually experienced the event.
For instance they can describe a conversation between their doctor and their spouse that has taken place in a room three doors away from where they are having their heart attack.
People that have been blind from birth can describe the things they have seen while "clinically dead".
People can identify and describe relatives they have never met before or even knew existed.
Heightened electical activity doesn't cut it.

Good on them...
I had a near death experience, the only thing I remember is me telling my girl friend her bum looked big in those pants......
Some people know the toast is going to burn even though they did not see me sneakily adjusting the toasting timer.
What is with the dial on toasters anyway - nobody uses #1 to lightly warm it.......... nobody eats it black and smoking.
So why have such a range of adjustment, and thus potential error built in?

But...did it?
Maybe you should have said this;

Mmm warm bread, sounds weired.
I'm having a near death experience now... I've got the worst flu I think I've ever had... I can't even stand up. I've got chills, spasms, headache... I'm farked.

And they usually appreciate life more than they did before the event.

The first point hearing something three doors away is not a real stretch it has been proven by scientists that all of your ( 9 - 21 ) senses are connected and when you are for one reason or another you are unable to use one or some of these senses others are heightened. for example you can smell better when it is quiet and so on.
So for someone under anesthetic to have a heightened sense of hearing while the senses of sight and touch for example are restricted then is far from abnormal
as for the rest of your statement you couldn't be more vauge if you tried
the reality is there has been many studies on this subject a few that have been completed in the last few yeas none have ever had any scientific data to prove it is possible.

Fell out of a 4th story window and was in pretty bad shape.
I remember dreaming that triads had captured me and were shaving off my dreadlocks...
I woke up and an asian surgeon is shaving my head just prior to performing a pressure-releasing operation on my brain. Remember it crystal clear.
Didnt meet any higher powers, but I reckon when you are in a morphine induced coma you are far more aware of your surroundings than most people would expect.

Dude, you're still holding that fish corpse grudge. Sorry but fish look much better alive.
Mrs is making Greek lamb tonight... but I can't taste anything.

Maybe a toaster is not just used for bread. The higher setting could be for when a steak is put in.

Love crumpet. Never used a toaster to warm them up. Usually Bacardi Breezers........ oh. I seee what you mean.... ![]()
OK we have the lower range sorted. Now why the ability to cause nuclear devastation level burnage on a bit of bread?
I am running with the steak theory - that is fkn awesome. Next time I am batching, I will try it. (Probably not a thing to try with missus around)
Near death experience,=big bum ,= toasters.= headace=, dead fish=, Greek lamb,=bleeding ears,= crumpet= Nuclear Devastation!!!
OMG what,
could be next?

also used for inserting match box cars, barbie dolls, lego and loose change (and cutlery if you are the daring type)
So back to near death experiences.
I have heard chicks miss a handbag on sale at Myer and say " like Oh My God I like almost DIED"
is that the same thing?
Your patient must have incredibly selective hearing. From my experience in attending people with heart attacks there is a great deal of noise. Orders called, confirmation of medications. medical equipment noise, alarms, in fact it tends to be very noisy. For a patient to simultaneously hear a private conversation three doors away is stretching it a bit. yet patients can and do relate a detailed account of such conversations.
Saw an episode of Through The Wormhole (that one with Morgan Freeman) where they addressed the life after death topic. A neurosurgeon who had one of those out of body experiences was interviewed and was quite convinced there was something there outside of human understanding. Being a neurosurgeon I guess he was also something of an expert in the field. Interesting watching.

People can identify and describe relatives they have never met before or even knew existed.
My uncle, who had never seen my daughter, picked her out from a crowd in a public park. I'm sure the fact that she looks like me and my wife had nothing to do with it.
