Why don't they just have a crack at illegalising criminals?
Was in the bottle shop talking to a mate who manages the joint the other day when a bloke came to buy his daily three cigars. Turns out that the purveyors of tobacco are not allowed, legally, to sell single cigars because single cigars do not have any warning on the cellophane, oh woe is me, Never mind the fact that this user of tobacco has taken it on himself to limit his own usage.
Bootlo has got around it in the inimitable Australian fashion. They keep an empty tin behind the counter, place his three cigars in the tin and give them to him. He then pays for the cigars, removes them from the tin and hands it back.
I meant to ask him if he takes it on himself to read the warning on the odd occasion![]()
yeah guns suck...
agenda 21 sucks slightly more
which ones gonna defend youe right to life...?
procedures are in place for the agendas implementation, to the point i attended meetings all last week discussing its causations and the efficiency of maintaining 'business as usual'....
of course they weren't calling it agenda 21, but it was definately contingency based on an exact point of certainty
As a former hand gun owner, I feel qualified to comment here. Decades ago in the R.S.A. , when you went to buy ammo for your gun, all ammo sales were recorded in a register and you had to produce your license to buy ammo for the calibre of gun you were licensed for.The cops could come and view the register at any time , and if your name was popping up all over town, I think you'd have a bit of explaining to do. We are waaaay behind here. It's coming, it's long overdue and it's a good thing, IMHO, J
Sometimes I feel like I am belting my head on a brick wall...
crims are importing drugs and the chemicals to manufacture them.
at the same time, they are bringing in illegal firearms, stealing firearms- or buying illegally possessed unlicensed firearms, to protect thier drugs, the profits from assorted criminal enterprises and thier turf.
do you really think they are going to walk into a shop and buy ammo over the counter expecting no questions asked? or wander into a shooting club and ask if they can buy a refill for thier unlicensed firearm?
no legit. firearms owner is going to risk the wrath of big brother to suppy crims with ammo. its just not worth it.
If crims are having any difficulty finding ammo, or cant steal it from civvys, police or military sources- they can VERY EASILY manufacture thier own ammo from scratch.
A dodgy backyard methlab operator could without much hassle make decent quality black powder, smokeless powder, guncotton, or any one of dozens of simple firearms propellants with mostly supermarket and hardware shop ingredients.
The primer compound (for igniting the gunpowder) is actually not that hard to make, and lead casting for projectiles is as easy as making fishing sinkers, if they cant import bullet moulds or reloading dies- any basic machine workshop with a lathe can make them. coincidentally- our prison system teach the skills to operate the machines needed to make these items as part of rehabilitation!
This kind of stuff has been done by terrorists, rebels, governments, (and schoolkids) for ages.
All these "well meaning laws" and bleating of "its for the children" will never stop crims from being crims., but it will stuff the legitimate shooter and law abiding citizen around.
A few years ago, the UK took the dramatic knee jerk reaction of outlawing all handguns.
Since that day- levels of handgun crime and street violence has gone through the roof.
All because criminal gangs have no probs getting by stealing, manufacturing or illegally importing what they want.
