Lets not slander or be racist we forget there is some nice hardworking law abiding Aboriginal people out there !
I personally haven't met any.

If you haven't met any nice hardworking law abiding Aboriginal people then maybe you haven't been in the right place at the right time?

Gee, that's clever. how long did it take to make that one up?
No point arguing with a bunch of small minded bigots.

sn has hit it on the head i think, but id like to add one thing. hand outs dont work very well. unless someone has earnt something the handouts go astray because when youve earnt something, you build pride in yourself. something for nothing will be taken for granted.
if i had all the advantages and government help thats given to the "locals" id be doing very well, not sitting at a tent protest hurling abuse at the very people i need to help my plight.

the black war didnt stop in 1830- it was going on full pelt well into the 1900's.
My grandfathers diaries of his police service- and those of other family members- in our Northwest have a lot of detailed and tragic notes of "punitive expeditions" they were ordered to participate in.
The aboriginals of W.A. (and not forgetting the rest of Australia) have plenty to protest about after what we inflicted upon them. Someplace in our constitution, there is supposed to be a percentage of our revenue set aside for the betterment of our native population. As far as I know, we have ignored that bit of fine print since before the ink dried on the constitution.

Let them protest all they want- as long as they comply with the same rules I would have to stick to.
Arrive in the morning- protest all day- pack up at sundown and go home, go back next day. leave the area clean and tidy. dont upset the people who you want on your side. you wont get support or sympathy from anyone you insult, upset, especially if you endanger their property or family.

If you refuse to be part of our society, support yourselves and dont expect or demand handouts from those you are insulting, upsetting, disrupting, or causing injury to.

respect is something earned- not given upon demand.

stephen.

Aboriginal protesters stood aside at Heirisson Island this morning while City of Perth rangers and police cleared away their camp.

Protester Herbert Bropho this morning told police that while the camp could be dismantled the protesters would not leave.

"We will keep coming back," Mr Bropho said.

"You can take a tent and we will put another tent up."

Pretty good idea really.

Saves having to tidy up and put the rubbish out yourself. Just live like a pig, then once a week the cops and rangers come and tidy it all up for you, and you can start again all over.

Might try it in my kitchen, see if the missus falls for it. I'll protest at there being only 3 flavours of ice cream in the freezer.

Yes but you've got to admit, it is funny.
From wikedpedia; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minuet

"A minuet, also spelled menuet, is a social dance of French origin for two people, usually in 3/4 time. The word was adapted from Italian minuetto and French menuet, and may have been from French menu meaning slender, small, referring to the very small steps, or from the early 17th-century popular group dances called branle ? mener or amener"
And there's a nice little picture there to give you an idea of what that might look like.
