haha I actually reckon Tom Cruise is a good actor so I'll watch and enjoy his movies for the most part.
It's pretty sad if you let an actors personal life affect the way you watch a film.
+1 for Three Kings.
this may be the only movie in this category for me .... "the party " staring Peter Sellers
oh yeah and of course "the blues brothers"
Blade runner,i recall driving out of the drive in after, and getting stuck at THE traffic lights at midnight, new years eve, and having to fight off the drunken indegenes with a axe from the toolbox, incredibly scary way to end a movie date
. never convinced the lady to go out with me again
Bit hard to choose just three. I'll ruminate for a while. Tentative start - "El laberinto del fauno".
I could probably go with "Bram Stoker's Dracula". Keanu Reeves stilted acting is nullified by Gary Oldman and Monica Bellucci.
So many others as well. I could've included "The Princess Bride", a bunch of sci-fi, a bunch of horror, a bunch of zombies.
really, i reckon you can only watch a movie over again and again if it has some great lines.
plenty of movies mentioned in here that trigger some memories.
saving private ryan affected me, but i don't think i would watch it again.
for me, there are a quite a few in this watch once category. doesn't mean i don't like them
OK - of the ones I have watched multiple times - these are the ones I have probably watched the most (at least 6 or 7 or 8 times - not sure that I have ever watched anything 10 times).
Star Wars
Empire Strikes back
Terminator & Terminator 2
Alien & Aliens
The Abyss
The Matrix
The Hot Chick (Rob Schneider comedy - NOT porn
)
TOP GUN (Well over 20 times)
Anchorman (Many many times)
Die Hard (Heaps here also)
Star Wars (At least 15 times each for the original 3)
World's Fastest Indian (Only a few, but would watch again)
Senna (Only once but would watch again)
Zoolander (Many many times)
Strange Wilderness
Supertroopers
Predator 'If it bleeds we can kill it'
Finding Nemo 'Nemo's schwimming out to schee'
Princess Bride 'My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die'
Bad Santa 'she ain't gonna sh1t right for a week'
I love Danny Boyle's films big time and I haven't seen a crap one.
my favourites:
28 Days Later
Trainspotting
Sunshine
28 days later is one I could watch many times over. Trainspotting has so many key scenes that to this day still gross me out and make me laugh at the same time.
I'm not a fan of Cruise but he was great in Magnolia and Collateral.
He played supremely narcicistic, power driven socio/psychopaths and was very good in those roles.. hang on a sec..
Lebowsky was good for a few times.
Ishtar a couple of times. ("How big Am I", and "Telling the truth can be dangerous business")
