Probably the reason the yank,s have,nt been back to the moon is
1 the place is m empty great views though
2 And this is more likely the point

The question shouldn't be why has man not gone back to the moon, but why did we go there in the first place ?
I can see it from here, and it doesn't look that attractive to me. Combine that with the degree of difficulty and expense in getting there, then why bother in the first place.
Was it solely American and Russian ego ?
I have been told that in the effort of going to the moon, it gave mankind the non-stick frying pan.
Whoopy-do, go to the moon to get a non-stick frying pan. How about just grilling your sausages and BBQing your mushrooms ?
Maybe man hasn't been back because he doesn't need any more kitchen utensils ?
