now youv, got a black top running through your bit of heaven , you probably should start investing in all the developments early as you wont be able to afford them in a few years. Any guesses how long before somebody starts calling for the unsightly shacks to be removed![]()
Pure gold
The chance of anyone getting this on is so remote that I'll put money it.
You should have seen the traffic at wedge today, whats in store for the weekend........??
After reading you guys bang on trying to say there are no waves there,,,
It must be loaded with heaps of all time breaks.
You guys are cutting your own throats.Euro backpacking surfers have just read this and put a big "X" on their maps.![]()
Well done
very fickle spot for surf if you ask me.
needs swell, wind, tide and banks all good. then some...
summer is usually dead flat and a million flies
Its a shame but its been coming for a long time.
Next will be demolish the shacks move everyone out.
Its come this far so my vote would be for the Govt to make the whole area public open space with the necessary amenities ie Toilets, Showers, Car parks etc and a big free campsite.
I say NO to subdivision, land sales and housing developments.
If the Government of the day open up Wedge and Gray they i believe they need to spend the cash to cater for joe public and joe publics waste.
Bring on Easter.
Yep good call PR, as a long time visitor to this area I'm not really happy to see it so easily accessed but if they are going to open it up I hope it can remain fairly development free, except for the facilities required to handle the tourism that will follow.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,,,,,,,dont let McDonalds hear of a spot with heaps of tourist and no golden arches![]()

Two things have popped up around these parts lately; anyone seen the new gates the Shire of Gingin have installed on the limestone track access onto Edward Is. Point at Lancelin? it looks suspiciously like they are preparing to prevent vehicle access onto the point?
The second is the Dept of Defence are closing the bombing range totally during exercises, they are not having designated transit times through the range, around the range or along the beach as they have done in the past. They now expect you to use the new road.
If we are lucky they will put a nice boat ramp near the Island and everyone will be able to tap into the surf offshore ![]()
Just drove through today , looked a bit meh for my kite surfing wave standards , but can understand city slicken living angst about it being open more to Joe public now . Short trip to a seclusive place that's now open to everyone would suck but I hate the city so Maybe I'm a bit biased or just stupid in my understanding
I did enjoy the trip to gero though as nice to travel along the coast and no hills so seemed faster
Imagine how cool it will be when they have extended trading hours there.. that's what the sheeple want after all.![]()
Shame for those that have had it exculsively for some time, but perhaps an equal paradise lies another 30mins north?
Best and most appropriate term i have come accross in years..![]()
If it baas and has a kiwi stuck in it it's a sheeple!![]()
BTW Doggie - shouldn't you be surveying your fav pink bits over here: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Kitesurfing/General/did-you-see-that-punt-darling/ right now?![]()
BTW - I wasn't taking the pizz earlier about he 30 mins north. I guess it's up to a new generation to forge there own slice of paradise out of raw dunes.. just like the 1st Wedgies did a couple of decades ago.
