I'll do the calcs , $15 for a can of Mexican Cervasa, $7.50 for a bag of brew blend (%25 malt, %55, dextrose, %25 corn syrup)
pretty sure that adds up to $22.50.
It then takes 15 minutes to mix all ingredients with 2 ltrs of hot water and 17 ltrs of cold water into a fermenter.
Leave for about 5-8 days , you can hit the water during this time
Pour into clean keg,(takes 10 minutes max)
Walk with keg in hand to fridge, this may take as long as 11 seconds , if you can spare the time connect hoses and turn up gas another 10 seconds!!
Leave for 2 days , then enjoy the best beer ever
Yes it does cost $350 for the set up , and 1 gas bottle at $30 lasts for up to 8 kegs , but after the initial spend it's yours for LIFE,
At $50 for a carton of Caronas it doesn't take long to add up to the cost of the keg set up .
I think if correct after some thought it's 7 weeks
I think for the half an hour to prepare the beer tis a well worth venture , BUT thats only my opinion

Home brew is like a fart.
Only the brewer enjoys it.

Used to brew my own from grain and I've still got all the gear. Kegging is definitely the best way to go. I don't have kegs and so need to bottle my brews which is where it all goes to custard for me. Just can't seem to get motivated to sterilise, fill and cap all the bottles. Haven't done it for ages as a result.

If you do brew from a kit, go the little extra and get some good fresh hops to drop in to the fermenter. Kits generally use Isohop for the hop bittering which means they lose out on aroma (although not as much as the megabrewery swills do!)

Somethin my old man use to say when he had is home brew crankin in the shed.
Done a few micro brews and they are up there with the best.
Tryin out a ginger beer atm, goin for 8%.
Mate at work grows his own hops and **** and then kegs it. Its top shelf

Folk are too lazy or do not have the time. I put my ginger beer into 1.5l coke bottles. Less washing, screw on cap and no danger of explosion.

A mate and I have our own still, purchased in WA. He is an alchoholic and gets through a 750ml bottle most nights, often more. He takes great great joy in the fact that he is denying the goverment revenue with every bottle. On the off occasion he has had shop bought **** it invariably gets thrown out.

I have to admit it is far far easier than beer but very rewarding at $1.56 a bottle!

try adding cloves to ya GB brew. Its an antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, aphrodisiac and has major stimulating properties.
Few stubbies and you will be struggling to get up of the lounge to get another out of the fridge. Have some brewin and cant wait to get stuck into it.
