Mmmmm I disagree Cisco, it's the message that is communicated that's important, not crossing the t's and dotting the i's...
but the message must be coherent.
in this medium, we are communicating in written english.
if you expect to be taken seriously, make the effort to communicate clearly.
"they" are breaking down the intergenerational communication syntaxes by corrupting the written and spoken law of language.
divide and conquer is "their" modus operandi
cisco, I did mean spell check as in to re-read the message and fix any errors. Like you, I do that and usually also reread the entire message from the beginning before posting to make sure that it does make sense. Often that results in me changing a word here and there to remove ambiguities. Whereas a spell checker embedded here or in Word may not pick the difference between "to" and "too" since both are valid spellings. The one in Word does pick out some grammatical errors but with mixed results. For example it often tells me I'm writing a sentence fragment when I know I'm not ("Bull****!" is a complete sentence thank you Mr Word!!)
Of course, I agree completely with you and the Doc on this. The messages here are written in English. If people can't write English clearly then the message risks being garbled and misunderstood and we get falur2cmunik8. ![]()
