Thumbs Up

I went to a show recently and the sax player (old black dude) had an iPhone strapped to the bell of his sax. It was being used as a wireless mic input. These things used to cost $4000 for a fairly basic setup. Now it's an iPhone app costing $30-40. To get proper studio quality sound you need an interface that costs $70.

You can get iPhone/iPad apps that offer the same functionality as a room full of studio gear and mixing gear costing tens of thousands of dollars.

New model cars will be coming with iPad docks instead of GPS/entertainment/climate control/trip computer options.

I would not want to be the manufacturer of highly priced digital gadgets when anything you can think of is being replaced by an iPhone app.

I want the iPhone 5 to have an accurate laser measuring device with a remote temperature sensor and barometric sensors built in. Then I can do all my measuring and leveling and home hand man stuff, measure weather stuff, and use it as a comprehensive flight instrument.

Who would have thought that putting a decent screen and interface on a mobile phone would have these results.
