Highlights
1)the importance of supervision of young children during water activity (under 10)
2) the value of training you kids how to be strong swimmers
3) Evaluating the level of confidence/competence of a child in open ocean rather than a swimming pool..

I honest believe competent training and resuscitation emergency plans / swimming in Australia should be a compulsory in schools.

The sad part is they didn't know any better .... so we need to address why. Cos any kid passing away is a great tragedy


And for me that's it in a nutshell.

This beach has now claimed two drownings in less than 3 months, that sign you see is a generic sign for all beaches. At worst they could make a better informed sign explaining the individual dangers of this spot.

If that had been two shark attacks we'd have more interest
More people drown every year, two people in one beach (if they had been shark attacks) that would be international front page news..
