Yeah when I was at Esperance we used to see aircraft really really high, heading north - south ....... all the normal flights run basically east - west there ......if going north - south there is nothing out there bar desert one way and antartica the other.

What do you recon they were doing? Are they allowed to test wepons ect out there or over the desert?[}:)]

^ Shortest path from Singapore to Buenos Aires.

^ Sydney to Buenos Aires (which has the coolest airport thingy: EZE)

... however it doesn't fly over WA, and I can't think of one that would. It is entirely possible that non commercial flights do. Also people have to get to Antarctica somehow.

I dunno, these UFO seem stupid to me. They run away as soon as you see them, but prior that they fly around with their lights blazing. Can't they turn their lights off at night?

Yeah, I agree; not trimming that fence line to be straight is poor form!

Panda I was not talking ufo's just unexplained flights that are obviously not commercial - or charter for that matter. Running north south at 30-50K ft above Esperance is strange, if you know the area you'd see why. It could only be a NT or northwest corner of SA airfield, running flights to nowhere and back.
Has to be military testing.
Makes sense, given that even at the so called 'secret' US bases there is 24 -7 watching by ufo / military aircraft enthusiasts- they have a roster of volunteer watchers who sit on the boundary and record all aircraft in the hope of seeing something. That leads me to believe much testing is done here in Oz.

We are all on a need to know basis eg controlled media, what would happen if the government came out and said yeah we've got a few flying saucers and have been in contact with aliens.....religion will go out the window and billons of people wont have any ideology to follow and probably cause a mass break down of of society..and anal probe will gain new meaning.
