The world is sometimes cruel
Sometimes you get screwed.
It's not your fault
And you are certainly no fool.
Sometimes bad things happen to the honest soul
Those that have boosting, slashing and rolling as their goal.
When we're not wet, we're reading about it
Dreaming about the pictures, the places and people that are fit.
To make amends for all that has gone wrong
I have this offer that wont last too long.
For 7 days only, no need for luck
You can get a subscription to Kite Mag for 20 bucks.http://www.kitemag.com.au/shop.html
Just wondering, is this from the same people as the australian kiteboard magazine? I payed for a subscription for a year about 2,5 months ago and never got 1 issue
Still keen however to sign up for an australian mag, and not meaning to be rude or condescending towards the person who runned AKM, but i'm not really in the position to loose money again...
cheers
Well I just subscribed. So 20 bucks for a year subscription right? Can't beat that. Hope I actually get a product delivered. Oh well only 20 bucks.
I hope that one day a mag in Aus does it well.
So far KBM almost did it, and IMO Kite mag is way off.
Some of the things i'd like to see in an Aussie mag
1. Great pics of Aussie riders.
2. Lots of local content. Expose on riders who frequent local spots - so a mag going to a well known spot and spending an arvy with whoever is on the beach, taking some photos, interviewing the local riders etc - not necessarily the sponsered guys.
3. Travel articles - one article a mag is enough
4. Rider interviews - what has happend to the pioneers of the sport in aus who are the regulars who's the future.
5 Focus on particular discliplines - part of the mag dedicted to wakestyle, freestyle, wave riding etc
6 Regular columns and slots - readers letters, comps, Local guys submitting tales of whats happening in their part of town.
7 A kite mag about kiting only.
8 Fair price - $15+ is too much - $5-50 is probably right
Anyway my 2.5c for what its worth.
Hey poor relative,
Maybe you can flick through the last three editions and then make your comments?
I'm happy to send them to you, so that you can then make an informed critique of the publication.
Personal message me with your address so we can get the process started.
Well like always, people dont seem to read the information available to them, usually too lazy.
The editor looks like he has the cridentials to pull it off, maybe if kiters would support a mag with material, editorials the content and quality of content would rise.
Must be a tough gig to run a paper print mag on your own, and can imagine hes fueled by passion and not the cash.
Im would be happy to support an Australian mag with some write ups from WA.
Sugar,
Your work would be greatly appreciated.
You are right.
It's more about the love than the money and we've learnt that over the last four years.
"C'est la vie", that's kiteboarding.
Hey kite mag
I bought an edition on my iPhone last week and it only stays on the kite mag screen, I don't get anything else? Is it iPad only or am I doing something wrong?
Cheers
Hi Joel,
If you are having a problem with the app just delete it and reinstall. Apple remembers your purchases.
Pm me if any probs, happy to assist
Yep I ordered too. My kiteworld sub just lapsed and I wasn't sure about renewing. Thought i'd try this instead.
I for one hate/hated the juvie attitude of KBM, I was there for the 'brown wings' & 'black ****' era and it never really got better.
I want kites in my mag. I want reviews. I want new release gear, even if it's just manufacturers handouts. I want tech stuff. New gadgets. Board building. Home job bar rigs. Local content. Local pics. Locals stacking it. I don't care if it's not polished. I don't need the best photos in the world. I don't want to see birds in bikinis (I'm sitting at the internet FFS).
Just a few more days to go until our $20 special ends.
To those who have recently subscribed, we will distribute to you by end if next week.
To subscribe, go to the kite mag website
George is a stand up guy . doing a good job.
He also kites well and sups well.
What you may not be aware of is that he sells many more subscriptions to the US /Uk/Europe ect than he would ever sell here. If it was not for this we would not have a mag at all.
He is always willing to listen to new ideas and promoting australian kiters.
Keep on keeping on george
