If you have missed all previous advices it is on:

Fremantle Sailing Club 151 Marine Tce Fremantle 9:00am Sunday 20th Sept.

For all those planning to attend we just received the below notice:

RAILWAY CROSSING ACCESS CLOSURE 19-21 SEPTEMBER
The railway crossing into FSC will be closed for essential maintenance from 10:00am on Saturday 19 September to 5:00am on Monday 21 September. A temporary entrance will be opened from Capo d’Orlando Drive through the gate at the Martin Box and Wilson Marine building allowing access to the Club 24 hours a day and will be controlled by a Security Guard. There will also be another guard 24 hours a day stationed at the inner Hardstand security gate. Members who have guests arriving at the Club will have to advise them of the new access. Traffic control personnel will be guiding the traffic at the Main Entrance. The Main Gates adjacent to SouthBeach will be closed. Please note, a large yellow sign will advertise the closure but will not explain about the temporary access. Members will still have access to the Club.

Hope this doesnt cause any grief. Capo d'Orlando Drive is the west turn at the set of lights 100M or so north of the normal Sailing Club entry.
I will email as many as possible on our rsvp list.

Thanks for the burst of support today. A worthwhile cause and we need you.
Kiters are such cool people!

Can non-members go to see if it is worth joining, catch 22, or is it a secret club???
Seriously?

Anything but a secret club - even if we tried that wouldnt work
Id say, on balance, at the moment there is more out there than there ever has been inside.
Even stuff that doesnt exist, never was and is not even being contemplated is being bandied round like a nudy mag in a prison.

BUT it is going to be the briefest AGM in history - deliberately. I would really suggest that if you are not there with a support vote it would be a waste of time. Lots of better ways of assessing the value but we will probably give a bit of a rundown on just why you should view the new state rep board setup as a major reform. So yep come along if you like.

A bit of advice ppl:
If you have something to say about AKSA, 1) become a member, 2) turn up to the AGM and vote or stand for a committee position.
You might actually meet some real people and get to talk to them about AKSA in person rather than just anonymously posting rubbish on some cyberspace forum.

RANT OVER.

Once again Slave, you are making assumptions, there will always be that vocal minority, to which you also belong Slave, trying to make it sound like they are doing good , in fact just wasting time and resources, If this was a company, Id spend the money on a lawyer and sweep the crap away.

Just also also rememberd, you are not a WAKSA/AKSA member, so have no voice, prety useless actually.

On another note I also dont understand why the forum owners dont ban people that cause damage to the sport. As is happening right now.

NO. I am pretty sure non members are entitled to attend - just dont have voting rights.

The notice below was received by AKSA Thurs 17th. Beyond anyones control and the reference to club members is to FSC members. We are 'guests'.
I went down there today. Our meeting venue is confirmed. You just need to enter from the first left turn as you head down Capo d'Orlando Drive. Tell security you are there for the AKSA meeting. They will allow entry & give you directions to the " library". We will have the AKSA banners strategically placed to help as well.
We may delay starting slightly to allow for people having this unexpected delay imposed on them.
We are sorry but not our fault or the FSC. They are most apologetic as well.

Good speech by puppet,
main points what were pertinent to all, Rob R did not show, the meeting started 45 mins late due to respect to the non-attendance of the treasurer. Although due to the constitution, the current president, treasurer, etc format will be titles, but will operate more as seperate state bodies who will then make decisions on AKSA's behalf. AKSA will be more a "title" with decisions agreed upon by state bodies who can then make recommendations/decisions when they are national. Transparency is therefore improved, so like it or hate it no more "Mike and Emma show".

An AKSA lawyer has been appointed. I left after various speeches as I can't vote (not a member). The relatively new committee have a good structure in moving foward and improving and IMO have listened to feedback from its members. I think I might join and support a bunch of good blokes who are giving substantial time and effort to support my favourite hobby/sport.

P.S. Any complaints/issues brought by its members or non-members about AKSA or subsiduaries should be recent, i.e. less than 2 years old. The new democratic committee can't be held responsible for past decisions made by past dictatorships.

Hi Guys,

I am really pleased to see the final phase of AKSA becoming the umbrella shell representing the states by a member of state of the country. This was part of the agenda right from the very start of AKSA in 2000 and it has only taken almost 10 years to implement. Some dodgy goings on over the years but we seem to be moving in the right direction.

Congratulations to all involved! A fantastic result!

Cheers,

Slave,

as a non-member why do you give a rats arse if the AKSA lawyer is on a retainer or doing pro-bono work for the association?

Perhaps you could give us some insight as to why you care so much about how members money is used...???

If only you had the back bone to step up & get involved but no, you remain on the sidelines barking instructions without any knowledge or the spine to step up for what you believe in.

It seems AKSA is on the road to recovery, which everyone in the kiting community will be oh so pleased to hear. How about you just shut up & let the body do it's work. The only thing you've ever volunteered to the kiting community is bad karma, bad vibes & a bad attitude.

Enough already. Shut the fk up.

Hey Juddy,
It's a simple question.
Is he working pro bono or is he on a retainer ??
Why are you being so defensive ?
I thought AKSA was going to be more transparent ?
The fact that such a small, not-for-profit sporting association like kiting even needs the services of a fulltime lawyer astounds me.

@ Waveslave - You have finally demonstrated you have serious GOMS (Grumpy Old Man Syndrome), and have nothing positive to offer.
There is no full time lawyer, there is a member who is a lawyer and who has generously given up his time to help the sport and AKSA survive.

Good to hear that AKSA has resolved into the form that I originally intended for it, like Darren said it only took nearly a decade, LOL's
In the meantime a lot has been learned and some strong State Assocs have emerged particularly youse western bogans, and on the East Coast NSWKBA, SEQKA, their regional clubs - all peforming well................ and KBV lets hope some sanity prevails down there too.

Big hats off to Gavin Stephenson and Mark Hagan and all those who have stood up to the BS from RR, and stepped up at this critical time to help guide AKSA to be the national represetative vehicle it was always meant to be.
Power to the State Assocs!!!

Nice attempted deflection there Slave.

My comments are under my name, not an AKSA name/avatar/logo so trying to pin MY question to you on AKSA is somewhat...pathetic.

I'm not being defensive Slave - I, and many others would just like you to come clean...you're not a member, so why do YOU care if the lawyer is pro bono or on a retainer?

Time for you to come clean.

Well let's say I was thinking about joining WAKSA.... ^^^
And let's say I somehow changed into a clubbie-type person....
(as if )
Then maybe I might be slightly concerned about how the club was going to waste my membership fee....
like squandering dosh on a fken lawyer...
lol.

No one is on any friggen retainer...this is a vol. org., and if you're no good another is found......simple stuff really....sometimes things take a while to sort out......but that is history.

Good face to face meeting today, excellent group willing to give it a go in the interests of its membership (as defined by the membership).

Nice to meet the people who stand up in the flesh. Thanks heaps to those who made the long journey to WA because it really mattered.............its a long way from east to west...........next AGM should be in Alice Springs.

Doesn't everyone have a lawyer or someone who knows a lawyer?

I actually love really good lawyers....always nice people willing to help...it's not always about the money.

Good lawyers cost big bucks and an org. like AKSA couldn't afford it....go figure.
