Everyone will have Black Magic Micro Cinema Cameras on drones soon.

I'm actually surprised Go-Pro never made their lenses changeable via C-mount, would have been easy to do and added almost no size, would have also increased sales I think. That being said, hero4 black is pretty good that it shoots 4K and renders timelapse to mp4 in camera for the price it's at. (I'm aware you can buy a mod cage to use C-mount on Go-Pro).

The mounting system would increase size by a fair amount, then the increase in sense options would mean that they need to increase housings. The reason they can make housings so cheap is because they are all the same, using the same mould/ process etc.
As soon as they need to make new moulds they will have to increase the price even for the same model, as they are no longer making the same identical bulk product.

I think its sitting perfectly in its own market, if they were to veer of and make another more professional line then the c mount route would be taken.

I realise how margins work.
They have a cheaper cam they could continue to produce at a bargain price still using the old moulds. On top of that Go-Pro could easily produce another mould for a higher end camera to compete against (BMMCC), I mean GP aren't exactly scratching for cash ... Higher end users wont be buying Go-Pros for serious POV work any longer (except for water shots, or super tight spaces), but perhaps they don't even need that market. Anyway was just a thought.

You know you must be doing something right when people go through all that effort to trash your product.

Maximum height is 15m though. So you better have some pretty short lines.

if it had collision avoidance, so it didn't hit trees, it would be super cool for mountain biking.
