true. DI even got a quick slot in the Endless Summer 2 movie and we still surfed it uncrowded for years, untill now that is. Oh well. Used to be able to drive/walk all the way from the track at the pocket, up over the top past the house and down to the carpark at the end of the lagoon. Not to mention that if you knew the right people you could get a key and stay in the old light house keepers place for weekends. But thats all a memory since the house has been given over to some group that doesn't share in the old school DI spirit.
Shame my kids won't get to see the view from the top of the light house like I got to 20 something years ago.
Anyone been going up long enough to remember the old shacks along the beach and the cherry venture when it still had paint on it? You could still walk through it and even go down and stand in the engine cylinders (i even have some cutlery out of the galley).
Long story short, you think DI is good now, you shoulda seen it before the goverment and crowds fu#*ed it.
