****e moons while you were finding your inner amphibian I did the same up at buckets. Luckily I was able to let me kite go before it got shredded on reef. She floated over but got bar and lines caught in reef. Undid kite then ventured out to retrieve. That was fun!! Got it all back then did the untangle dance as well. Wind damn dropped right out on crest of wave and the rest was a blur of misadventure and poor skills. Funny ****e. Ya kite alright mate.

It looked pretty f*cked from where I was but once I got on shore it was fine.
I'm stoked with it because it took a hammering

I presume you didn't let the kite go, but was skull dragged through the waves. Had this happen 3 times now, no four with one damaged kite, now I just let the damn thing go - saved the kites ass on the reef too, just floated over.

Glad all cool man, wondering if I even want to use a damn safety now - where we kite anyhow - gotta get better at getting it up. Forgot nates advice, grab the middle lines high up and lift ot a little - goona give this a crack early on in the water next time, have to get it up quicker.

Your 5th line isn't a miracle cure to a basic screw up, but a highly effective powerful tool if you take the patience to understand it and master it.

5th line DOES NOT EQUAL a good surf kite- it is an unnecessary and a negative for the surf

I bet Chadster never worked out how to use a 5th line. Like most bridal kooks.

You might be right but I reckon Chadster and the majority of us "bridle kooks" would have already relaunched whilst you were still pulling it and trying to get it up.

That's only if the kite hasn't tumbled through itself first, thereby resulting in the 5th line slicing the kite in half...
