Why not bring back the Aaron Hadlow handlepass ring?
Physiologically it makes more sense to me to do handlepasses kooked in, because unlike unhooked the arms don't have to work against the legs. You could load up harder, hence do even more spins in the air - which closes the gap to figure skating! ![]()

Just because something is "harder" to do does not make it the future or coooooooler.
This is post was about patrick rebstock being a kite gypsy not about whats legit and how cool skateboarding and wankskating is or about being hooked in or not so can use start a new topic so we can waste our time arguing about whos more legit n datt on it![]()

interesting stuff
most progressive video i have seen for a long time awesome work
back in the day it was great seeing everyone try all different things with any kind of kite and any kind of board setup without anything being right or wrong, every vid new progressions to enjoy at the time.
Today I personally just don't see the point in wasting time making videos that are exactly the same as each other with exactly the same tricks over and over again as is seen so much in kite videos today - in particular most wakestyle vids and just as bad 2 second cut kite "surf" videos, It will be hard work and take time to film but who knows there may be some new progression in kiting, because as far as i am concerned there has been very little in the last few years.
I will stick up for hooked in and straps if necessary because it can be simply decided by the the conditions where you ride. But there is no way on earth that riders should compete - one using straps and one no straps in at least same heat - if not event...
The handlepass ring is an interesting thing. AH was not the only one to use one, at the time I think people were more worried by getting yanked by a 9mm diameter piece of tubing at full power than whether it was cool or not because it certainly worked for AH.
One of the main reasons street skating became popular was because it was low cost so accessible to everyone, combined with the fact that it was a time when authorities were filling in skateparks and tearing down ramps so there was quite literally nowhere to ride as there had been.
I am getting into wakeskating with the kite it absolutely rules and i can see some real potential for progression.
That was some sick riding, finally something to aim for as opposed to all the same level of waveriding posted in past. ![]()
