As opposed to being pulled from an unrelated section, by a kite, into the path of someone using the wave for momentum.
The spiteful sarcasm and personal attacks from some posters above is ugly and unwarranted.
For those who don't know Ry-
He is a devoted family man with two young children, he is a homeowner, the successful owner/operator of a full time business and is also a talented kitesurfer who is now riding as part of a global team. He has created an enviable balance between lifestyle, family and work all before he turns 30. Surely this would suggest that he isn't lacking in the brains department as some individuals have previously indicated in their posts. Ridiculous really. 
As for the clip lets keep feed back constructive and focus on the filming & riding without ripping into the individual. Positive's and negatives stuff???? Like it- why?Don't- why? That's the only way filming & editing can improve in the long run.
Positive: I liked the from the water camera angle and the shots from behind the bar down the wave. The shots from behind the bar help to bring the audience into the water and give them an insight into the perspective of the kiter.
Constructive: I would have liked to have seen a few longer rides or even a few of those sweet floaters from the behind the bar camera angle. If the groin is a no go zone then I would avoid kiting and filming there in future. 
IMO it's pretty hard to make a call about who's wave it was and who was "wrong". Without the couple of seconds before the incedent it is all out of context. the boognut, as they do could have swung around last second to take off, who knows.
Either way as the rules of boating/sailing go, when there is an imminent collision both take a starboard direction to avoid the collision, which they both did.
I enjoy the clips Ryland puts up, they don't make me want to go out and buy the kite but it is cool to see what can actually be done on the local stretch I kite on. Raise the bare anyone to aspire to if that's the direction they want to take their kitesurfing.

Its sad to see anonymous forum trolls having a go at Ryland who always identifies himself and stands up for what he posts on here. He is an exceptionally focussed rider who full deserves his reputation as a great rider having pushed the boundaries of wave riding strapless and unhooked [not really my thing, but hats off none the less] and pioneered innovative camera techniques, video making and some great previously unridden locations in this state. Any one of those accolades would be enough for most people. It is hard to do all that in a small place like Perth without being accused of becoming a tall poppy. I feel sorry for him being attacked so personally and undeservedly by lesser men. Perhaps its jealousy.
Some people should spend a little more time learning how to do a decent bottom turn and little less time attacking others.

Nice work Ry, keep pushing kitesurfing to the limits. Im looking forward to seeing some footage from your trip down south. Other than that, I think kitesurfing is for people who cannot windsurf.
