I'm sorry, but what you guys call 20+ over there is pathetic. I would kite in QLD's "20+" with a 17 so I didn't get bored.

Been windy on the east here for a month and a half already... Kited an 8m really powered more than anything else.

p.s. And before all you WA heros chime in about the wind strength on the east, I've been to Fuerte, Leucate and Morroco amongst places so I know what I'm talking about .

i wouldn't call the gusty nor westers we've had in the past couple of weeks seabreezes, but they've been fun.

@ Stamp, yeah I think the wind is a bit more gusty up there, especially if it's at all to the N instead of straight NE. I've just been out around Ballina and Lennox and was actually thinking (after being overseas) how amazingly smooth the wind here is most of the time haha.

@Laurie... go on then hahaha.
p.s. I'm also pretty stoked when I get a surf, kite and a skate in the one day, but I'm usually screwed for a day or so after haha.

Hahaha true.
But was also accused on the WS forum of wrecking the whole forthcoming season by saying it is on soon

Gero has been steady 30 knots the last 2 arvos.... It hasn't been that hot, any weather gurus figured out why ? It's way above the forecast.

Ah yes, this reminds me of when I used to own an olive farm in Tuscanny while I was there on assignment working for the french foreign legion.

I'm still a bit mentally scarred from yesterday. Yarny had a tear in his wetsuit which meant his whole arse was hanging out. Water temp was about 16 degrees, so I'd reckon his wedding tackle was shrinking faster than a thief on the run.

When I happened to be upwind of him (we did a downwinder), it gave a whole new meaning to a "bottom turn". More than once I fell off at the sight.

Banks are ok... closeout city, but making the most of what's on offer.

Because a Seabreeze works because of a pressure difference. Just because Gerro does not get that hot. Inland possibly got vey hot whilst the ocean is still quite cold.

So the air mass over the hot inland area rises leaving lower pressure at ground level. The air over the sea is cold and dense at a high pressure so the high pressure air pours in over the coast to fill up the space left by the rising air inland. there you have your sea breeze.

In simple terms

Lol. Had a similar harrowing experience with my bro. Just don't want to see that.
